Time for New Suspension

The time has come... my front end keeps bottoming out when I hit a bump. What do you guys recommend for new struts and springs?

I found out you can't have better handling with the same ride comfort as stock. I liked Eibach Prokits with stock shocks for everyday driving. They were noticably better than the stock ride but not too stiff. I added the KYB AGX's and although the handling improved, I thought they were too stiff at the softest setting.

I agree exactly w/ Blownaway. I have the exact same setup.

The Eibach Prokits are DEFINITELY the way to go. Sounds like your shocks are toast, so I'd go w/ the KYB's (cheap and 4 way adjustable) your car will feel like Mugen tuned it after having stock stuff [img]smile.gif[/img]

Hey 96integraRS, I read your reply on hondatech. Is it true you ran a 14.00?

With a G-tech and a flat road, I ran 14.0, one run, scared of cops [img]frown.gif[/img]

I haven't had a chance to get to the track, and won't until next year. I wouldn't necesarily say that the G-tech is the best measurement device, but it was within .2 seconds at the track when I went before. Since it's a G-Tech run, it's fair to talk about, but not fair to put in your sig [img]smile.gif[/img]

I replaced my clutch and installed an R flywheel, replaced the stock cat, and advanced my timing, which produced a noticable butt dyno improvement.

On launch the problem I had before was wheel spin; by slightly turning the wheels, I can get both to spin and effect a better launch.

Why I have one front and one rear is a long story, these came off a 98 GSR and have about 10k miles on them and work fine.

I'll still recommend H&R OESport springs for good performance without killing ride comfort.

Combined with KYB AGX shocks, they work well. My instructor yesterday at a track day commented on how the car was very quick to settle in and respond to my inputs, especially when correcting mistakes.

You can find the KYB AGX's at coximport.com for $340 shipped...I personally like the Skunk2 coilover kit...its a nice setup that wont break the bank you can find them at importhorizon.com for $280 shipped...this combo is a nice suspension setup that can be used for drag and autocross and is fully height adjustable...yes they are not the most expensive out there...but I feel for bang for the buck its a nice setup...oh by the way I have them on my car so this info is from personal experience [img]smile.gif[/img]

Where's a good mail order place to order the shocks from? I was surfing the net for prices and it seems the AGX runs for about $90 front and $85 rear each.

Thanks CivicR. I am going to order them from COX Import. I was going to buy the two used ones from CROM, but then I decided it's best to get all new because then they'll wear evenly.
