Am I the only one out there who finds that "Animatron X" is just O.K.? Been there, done that, mediocre production. Everybody praised it sooooo damn much, I was expecting it to blow me out of the water, and I got done with it, shrugged my shoulders, and just put it away.
Am I alone here? Wouldn't be the first time, but I am still waiting to see something even less than stellar said about that release.

AND MUSICALLY IT'S WHAT I NEED AND I EXPECTED TOO KEEP ON GLAMMIN!!!

I UNDERSTAND BILL AND CARL TOO!!! AND PERHAPS "EVOLUTION" IS THE REASON TO FEEL THAT!!! Sounds like the people who criticized the Death Metal band just didn't like Death. Agreed, the gimmick excuse is a tad hypocritical, if they're gonna rave about the Creeps. Image ISN'T everything, as those people have proved.
I guess they prefer the entertainment that Glam music provides, over Death.
I'm sure GWAR and Green Jelly entertain, if you're into that kinda thing. I just like the Creeps songs.
The Darkness still suck though.

My sister had the cd last time she was down to visit...I tried to listen to it...give it a chance, but found it horrendous...and to me it was TINY TIM playing in a rock-band.
People say The Darkness, Jet, White Stripes, The Strokes, and Maroon 5 are the saviors of Rock N Roll?...if that's the case..then I hope I get hit by a bus

Yeah, musically they do rock. Vocally they do suck. But I still love that one song.

Good job I only really see stuff about them here then, or I'd probably get bored with it.
I'm not a huge fan of the Creeps cd. The songs aren't bad but I don't think its worth all the hype it receives. But go see the guys live... they do a great job. Honestly. One of the better shows I've seen in a LONG time. And they are a RIOT to hang out with.. good guys all. But then again.. I say that very same thing about Cherry Bang lol..

But don't get me wrong, I LIKE PC, but that is about it. I just don't understand the mad love for them. Heck, even the look isn't original if you have ever paid attention to the Visual Kei movement in Japan. In fact, they are rather tame in comparison to some.

I just couldn't be silent on this one..i can not believe so many put so much energy and time into this pc thread...you mention the creeps in los angeles and you get chuckles.i think it's cool that they stick to there guns and all..but they are just about 15 years too late.
I like The Creeps...but I just can't stand all the Anime Hoopla image.

HEY CARL I THOUGHT THE SAME WHEN I WENT MARRIED (BEING MY WIFE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF EVERYTHING)...THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE!!!! HA HA HA (JUST A JOKE!!! ONE MISTAKE LIKE THAT CAN'T STAND TEN YEARS!!!) BUT WAIT, I NEVER GOT A HAIRCUT AND HAIR WAS (ONE [img]wink.gif[/img] ) OF THE DETAILS WHICH BETTER IMPRESSED MRS D'MARK WHEN SHE KNEW ME!!!
To me, I think they are decent, but it's the vocals that keeps me from thinking they are great.
Not that the vocals are terrible, it's just that the first thing I ever heard from Peppermint Creeps was the demo that Marky D'Sade sang on, and I absolutely loved it (Stupid, Lesbian, I'll Be there for you)....and this is before I ever heard Macy's voice, so when I heard the other PC songs, along with the new versions of those 3, I just didn't feel the same magic.....and it kind of put the band in the avg. category for me.
Of course, it would be hard to follow Marky's vocals cuz he'z alwayz been one of my faves.
And I can't wait to hear more stuff from him and Revlon Red. If the PC ever came on tour up here, I would definately check it out though!
<font face="comic sans">There are alot of 'glam' bands out there still doing it, I mean, just because they draw inspiration from other genres, they're still 'glam'...I mean, look at Killingbird...They're still kicking ass(as always) and what about bands like Bubble? They're kinda glam, right? not bubblegum glam, but still, I'm counting it. Beautiful Creatures are still playing(going to see them on Thursday)PBF is still trying(gotta at least give them THAT much...) Oh AND...soon The Mistakes will be playing again too...."blood and glitter" will for sure be released in '04 and they will also be putting "straight outta reseda" on enhanced cd, with the videos for Board, DUI, and Tomorrow....
Once they're playing again, people will say "peppermint-who??" hahah. Okay maybe not THAT intense, but seriously, I think they'll have a pretty big impact(again)but I'm not into the Peppermint Creeps. Great guys, but it's not my thing. </font>
I checked them out a few months ago. I'd agree with Carl. I thought for a modern day band the production was really crappy. I could do a better quality recording in my apartment.
I heard Crystal Pistol are demoing for Universal Music...maybe they can inject the sleaze back into rock n' roll
MARKY, I dont guess the scene is in coma, even is not the best moment, if you are able to look outside L.A.,USA, there are more great bands..like ROBIN BLACK AND THE IRS or HARDCORE SUPERSTAR just to say any of them

Hopefully P.B.F. will keep putting out stuff, plus i picked up the Penny Lane-Anthology/Peppermint Creeps-Both/Crystal Pistol-Demos,Coming Soon Revlon Red-CD!!!Perris records keeps adding to the list!Now if we can only get other Glam/Sleaze bands to release more Anthology's like Penny Lane that would be awesome!!! I'd rather buy the demos from the bands and support the scene than have someone making tons of money on e bay strictly for the cash and not the music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
