Do you talk to your dolls?

I don't talk to all of them and now that I think about it, the ones I don't talk to are the ones I wouldn't have too much trouble letting go of. Then there are the other dolls that just seem to be on the same wavelength as me and I can't help talking to them. My latest doll is a rescue from ebay that was quite dirty and even had streaks of paint on her. She still has a few blemishes that I can't fix, but then none of us are perfect. Somehow, it seems to make her more real and I have been talking to her since she arrived. I didn't have the best of beginnings myself so I imagine this doll and I have something in common there. I would say that we are both quite lucky and very grateful to have found a nice home. [img]graemlins/rose.gif[/img]

I called Anna "Anna-Banana" and Jess "Jess-Jess." I also made them help me with my term papers. They're great listeners when you just need to talk things through. [img]wink.gif[/img] Just don't tell the family. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Edit: I never really talked to Molly for some reason... I still feel like a traitor now that they're almost all "locked-up" now, though.

I never used to, but I'm starting to talk to them more. And sometimes they talk back- they have to if they talk to each other. Sometimes we read each others minds if there are other people in the room, and talk that way.

Sure thing. I talk to myself all the time anyway, and talking to my dolls is just an extension of that. I'll talk to them as I'm changing their clothes or something.

I talk to them sometimes, but usually quite a bit like I talk to my cat...as in, telling them things I'm sure they have absolutely no interest in. [img]biggrin.gif[/img] Or, if they do something terrible (like topple over) I do lecture them.

Not only do I talk to mine but so does the DH. It's very funny. I came home from the grocery today and DH says "Hey Kumi, there's a box for mommy from AG. I wonder what's in it." I about cracked up.

My dollies are mind readers...I THINK at them and they know what I said. Then they THINK back at me a reply. It's great fun. (And staves off embarassment as no one can catch me talking to my dolls... [img]wink.gif[/img] )

Definetly!

I'm just by nature a really talkative person, and I find myself sometimes talking to myself outloud. I try to avoid doing that when I'm in public by myself, but once and awhile it slips, lol.

I talk to my girls as I dress them and set them up for photos. And sometimes when I just need to vent, I talk to them because they are such better listeners then even my closest friends!

Another thing I do is use my Bratz dolls (because they're teenagers, unlike the AGs who are all between 8 and 10) to act out dialouge scenes for my stories. I found it alot easier to use the dolls instead of talk it out loud to make it sound right. And I like to tap into that creative streak I had as a child that made me get interested in writing in the first place. So I grab some dolls and my little tape recorder, lol. But my AGs do get to help with my writing too, they keep me company and are great for chitchat when I'm doing the typing thing. [img]smile.gif[/img]

I like the idea about the term papers, maybe I should have my dolls watch me practice.

I talk to my dolls all the time. Alas, they don't say much back to me...

Years ago, when I was still programming, I used to bring vexing problems home and explain them to my dog. It is amazing how much help a basset hound can be in debugging code... They are attentive and don't interrupt!

I talk to them all the time. I didn't use to until this year though. They "call" me when I'm at work and am totally bored. I also have long arguments with Kira about her snooping around, and I have certain ones I talk to for different things:
Sam - problems in general, teacher issues (she is the best listener)
Kailey - boy issues
Kira - getting her in trouble, when I am hyper, or when she wants to give me boy advice
Linsi - friend problems
Marie - friend problems
Kit-Kat - anything or when I just want to cool off
Lissie and Sierra - anything because their ages are the most different than mine so I don't feel as weird
Piper - "grown-up" things
