It's not like it was before....directions please
If the url is not already hosted on your computer, right click on the image and hit "Save picture as." A menu of your directories will appear, and you will be asked to "save" it. So save it.
Go into your profile. To the left of the avatar window is some text, including a link for "Custom avatars." Click on it. A window will appear. Click on the "browse" button. A menu including the avatar you just loaded should appear. Click on your avatar and "open" it. The addy should appear in the window next to the "browse" button. Click "Upload." Go back to your profile, and click on the avatar window menu button. Click on "Custom" in the drop-down menu, then go to the bottom of the page and click "update profile." Your avatar should then be loaded.

Did you "browse" the addy into the upload window?
Did you get a message saying that your avatar was successfully uploaded?
If so, when you click on the button to bring up the drop-down menu in your avatar window, one of your first options should be "Custom." If not, you've done something wrong.
There by proving he is an assmunch!

Funny as this was tested over 100 times and others seem to be getting it without to mcuh of a problem. I would say it is user error http://www.hostboard.com/forums/ Now go back and try again as from the steps above it does not mention that you uploaded it to the server but only downloaded it from whereever it was originaly located.
