I recently tried to upgrade from AOL 5.0 to 8.0.
It snidely informed me that my PC "lacks the resources" to carry 8.0 and then it loaded me with 7.0, which immediately started raising HELL with all of the rest of my software.
I tried to "uninstall" but all that did was remove my old 5.0 set-up.
I finally had to manually delete all the AOL stuff in my HD.
I LOST ALL MY "FAVORITES" LINKS!
Now, I could actually care les about most of my links,

and some of the sites (Like this one) are engraved in my heart and mind, but I lost my links to "The Vampire's Lair" and "Copy-cat Recipes".
I think I posted them here once in a thread that no longer exists.
I don't suppose anyone saved the 2 links and could give them to me...huh, huh, huh?????

8.0 didn't do too well on my puter so I'm just sticking with 7.0

Well, lassies, on my Outlook Explorer, I have a list of favorite sites that I can just click on and go to w/o having to enter a URL. I THINK Hunter lost his Favorites list somehow, and this Vampire site, I think, might be one of them. So I'm just helping out a bud, I hope. You guys didn't know Hunter was one of the un-dead? Buffy was hot on his trail till he gave her a mustache ride!

Welllllll......I THINK I had both of 'em - but when I had to change puters, but had to reformat the other one, I lost all my favorites back then too [img]frown.gif[/img] Sorry 'bout that.
Sorry 'bout your puter troubles too, Hunter. I'm runnin' 8 and I love it! You may just not have enough space on your hard drive (hush now!)for it to load. If you've got a lotta "junk" stuff on it, like I do on mine, you may just need to delete some of it and make some space. But then, that might not be the problem either - so I guess I wouldn't listen to me if I was you. [img]eek.gif[/img]

Yeah, LL...that is definitely the problem.
I've got a 20gig HD but am still running it through a 2gig motherboard.
I blew out some partitions and can actuall use about 10gig, but when I try to load any large programs, the PC only recognizes the original 2.
I think I'm gonna start building my own set-up.

That sounds like a winner, Hunter! HOWEVER, unless you just wanna build one - I saw an ad on TV yesterday and Dell has a really good sized one they're sellin' (for now anyway) for $499. Might wanna check into that if you don't really wanna build one......it's faster that way to! [img]smile.gif[/img]
I'm camped out on a laptop, so I HAVE to watch how much junk I pile into it - our desktop's got all kinds of room, but I can't handle that chair from hell sittin' in front of it.....LOL! [img]rolleyes.gif[/img]

it's weird since most ppl on campus have laptops yet they manage to download soo many music videos, games, songs, movies etc whatever on them!! I won't I guess I have the oldest laptop of all these kids but it's served me well lol. they swap songs and movies and everything on local network and crank up the memory capacity yet nobody's has crashed or anything lol wierd
