Well, after reading some previous post about ClutchMaster about which clutch is better, I would say to stay away from ClutchMaster. Even though I haven't remove my tranny yet, I'm pretty sure that a spring just went off the clutch at the track this week-end. This was only the fourth time that I went to the track with it, with no more than 15 passes total, with about 5000 miles of non-abusive driving. With only 220hp at the wheels, I would have expect that a stage IV would be a lot stronger than that.
So here it goes again, which clutch is better ? I've heard good things about RPS but they don't make their TurboClutch Carbon for my car http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/frown.gif ACT, I don't think anyone I've tried it around here so I don't know. Others ???

Sorry to hear about your clutch. I have a stage II thats been in my car for over 70K now with minimal problems. The pedal is starting to sag a little, but it still grabs like a claw.
I think the concensous around any board you go to is that ACT is the way to go. I think if my setup blew up tommorrow I would go this route.

i was thinking the same thing. i'm abusing mine now (stage 4) and besides a bit of chatter)it has a stock left leg and grabs with aggression. this is the first time i've ever had a problem shifting...ever. the clutch is grabbing before i can get my damn arm to react. i mis shifted 5 times last saturday at the event...and it was no ones fault but my own. Stock ITR clutch setup was actually pretty good...but i didn't know what i was missing til the swap

My clutch failure maybe due to my flywheel since it didn't let the clutch slip a bit. It was very hard not to spin the tires from a dead stop, so the springs got all the stress.
Centerforce sucks. Lasted 2 months before it has started to slip. Mis-install, I don't think so, it's kind of hard to do. ACT seems really good, I may get a HDPP with a SS disc. Anyone heard anything about Exedy ?

I've had the basic same experience Lip had. Soft pedal, STRONG bite. I wonder if there is a quality control issue or a conflict working with certain parts that you guys might be installing that differs from what we have. Its odd that some people have excellent results and then others horror stories. Just plain weird.

My car is in the shop right now gettin a clutch specialties clutch put in. i payed 270 for the clutch and ill tell u tommorow my first impressions. also in a week or 2 ill have the turbo in and tell u how it handles that.

Well, I've spoke to fast. The clutch pucks are indeed dead on the flywheel side but the springs and pucks are where they should be. Damn, something is broke in my brand new tranny since sometime I couldn't shift. I'll open it tomorrow to find out what went wrong and I'm going to strengthen the damn thing. In the meantime, I'm going to have the disc rebuild. My apologies to ClutchMaster.

I had my RPS Turbo clutch with the 4 puck disk for about 3 month and it died on me on my 4th run at the track. Just got another one installed yesterday.. still breaking it in.
Question: My first 30 miles with this clutch there was no chatter at all, but now I'm starting to get more and more chatter... is it normal? Does chatter ever go away?? Maybe after the break in period?? thankx.

Good news. There's nothing wrong with my tranny. The problem was that my clutch wasn't disengaging properly. I just had my disc rebuild and the clutch guy told me it was a very good clutch, I could have it rebuild like 8 times and PP has over 2000lbs of pressure.
