Does he have a boost guage? If so, what pressures?
Also, even if it's making plenty of boost, can still be low on power if not tuned properly. (well that's what happened to me with the first JRSC install I had -- it was barely faster than stock -- so I knew something was wrong)
-
1st off: Do you mean a type R modded kit on an LS?
2nd off I assume this to be true so it's just a matter of a "regular" problem somewhere. You don't need a wideband to detect a fuel problem at all. If you're hitting rich, the lights will stick on the "richest" setting. Is the exhaust tip wet or darker than normal? How is the gas milage? Did you triple check the wiring? Are you getting a check engine light? What's the boost reading? What injectors did you install and why did you so without a different FPR? The jackson one will work with slightly bigger injectors but nothing really big. We need way more information than you posted.
-
My friend just got back his Endyn modded JRSC. He got a J&S, bigger injectors, new clutch etc. etc. He already has an ignition, exhaust, intakes, headers.
So, he finishs the install (well, not him, but whatever) and it was defintiely flawless. The intstaller has installed TONS of JRSC and is very experienced and meticulous.
THE CAR IS SOOOOO SLOW. Slower than before. I dunno what is wrong. Could it be a fuel issue? I think the car is running VERY rich, but cannot be sure (no wideband o2, just normal a-f gauge).
Also, the J&S seems to bring back the timing quite a bit, and thus seems to degrade performance further.
Any ideas? It is just really slow, and sometimes hesitates. If seems to have little power. Right now, it is merely a bolt on because he just installed it today. Hopefully, we can hit a dyno this weekend.
Stock Jackson FPR is still being utilized. Which way to turn it to lean out the mixture?
PLEASE HELP SOON. MY FRIEND IS SOOO UPSET
-
Why am I not surprised?
I am glad that you are telling it how it is and not packing us. A real person with a real car that spent real money to get the "modified" endyn JRSC.

What is the J&S set at? If it is taking out massive amounts of timing, that could be the problem. Is the J&S sensing knock? Get a cartech, the JR regulator is also probably supplying goddy amounts of extra fuel.
-
It's funny how people like to focus on the negativity of a situation. Doesn't anyone have ANY faith at all? I'm sure it's just a tuning issue...good luck with figuring it out. Sorry I couldn't help.

We still need an answer to BurntGSR's #1 question.

Hi, sorry I couldn't reply earlier, but I had school.
Ok, the car is an Integra GS (B18B engine) that has a JRSC (for the B18B engine- not the ITR JRSC).
He has not driven the car enough to know if the fuel economy is different, or if the exhaust has any sort of odd-coloured build up. The wiring is perfect; however; the CEL did come on (I think), but he reset the ECU and the CEL stayed off. There is no boost gauge (yet; just got the SC back on Sunday).
The components installed are as follows. JRSC modified by Endyn; RC 270cc Injectors; J&S Safegaurd; Crane Ignition system with external coil; I/H/E; and of course, a new clutch.
So, it turns out that the clutch installation broke the drivers side axle; however; the car was drivable, and was seemingly not very fast. We only found out about the axle today because we went back to the shop that installed the clutch, and they checked the install.
Could the busted axle be responsible?
PS: The J&S was hardly retarding the timing from 13 deg.
Man, I dunno. I hope Endyn is legit. Well, TOO is definitely knowledgable, and seemingly very friendly, so I am sure there is an explanation.
Thanks for the replys. Please keep them coming.

Waveoff,
Yes I focus on the negativity because I have yet to see any real person used his products and get results.
Larry is one hell of a salesman and a closer. He has 3/4 of this board cuming all over themselves with his knowledge, theories, pictures, and home videos.
Please prove me wrong, I want to be the first to say that Endyn products work.
Till then I will be rolling on my TL with Stock Suspension, Stock I/H/E yada yada yada.

It's a shame that no one can take someone's word for something anymore these days. Shure, people get scammed by "vaporware" everyday but there are also legit things out there. What's wrong with believing what someone says? Why is it that everytime someone wants "proof" of something the "proof" has to be dyno charts or something to that effect? No, I'm not cumming because of T.O.O.'s products but I do believe that he offer's good knowledge and good products. Since you like to brag about your TL, which in a sense you're bragging that you have money, why don't you use your money to travel to TX and check out T.O.O.'s cars? Would that be real enough for you?

Like SSBP said, actions speak louder than words!!!!
-
Maybe SSBP should stop knocking Larry here, and go to where Larry is and post his complaints on his board, where Larrt can read and answer his questions or complaints.
-
True, CROM, but if I said that I had an endyn modded JRSC no one would believe me. Even if I said that I used a G-Tech that still wouldn't be good enough. The non-believers would want a picture of the G-Tech readout...even that wouldn't be good enough for some. Sure, a dyno run would be nice. Unfortunately, some of us live where there isn't a dyno nearby. Still, that wouldn't be good enough for some...they'd want to see scanned dyno sheets. Not everyone has a scanner you know. Even if it was scanned and the numbers were high some wouldn't believe it. They would say, "you edited it with photoshop." Sound familiar (even though it has happened)? Sorry to get way off topic but that's just how the attitude seems to be around here. I'll stop blabbering now...you get the idea.

no, that isnt my attitude at all....
if you could say this:
Hey folks, I just got my Endyn modded charger back, and installed it, along with all the other goodies, and went and ran it at the track, and well, HOLY SHIT, that bastard is fast. I just ran a 12.3 at the track at 112MPH, with the J&S registering no knock at at all!(with a 94+ GS-R mind you, because that is what would impress me)
That is what he is saying and that is what I want to hear! it comes down to this, we are all poor bastards, save a few, and we dont have the cash, nor the time to invest in something like that! Perhaps when I get my CRX up and running I may be able to do that, but it will be Turbo by then, unless swayed otherwise, ya know!
-
I agree.
I think it's pretty damning that not one person with the Endyne blower mods has posted times or even gone to a track.
We should expect quite a few reports in the near future, since they are supposedly all booked up until February.
Greg

greg you got IM?
What is your name?
-
ok JRSC_ITR, exactly what mods does your friend have? ONLY the ones listed? or are there any others? have u run a quick compression test? unhooked the crane ignition? no intake restrictions? does the boost bypass operate freely (saw one that snagged a lot on a JRSC civic)? hook up a boost gauge and a FP gauge and report back http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif
BTW, i dunno why people diss larry. sure, he knows his crap and can seem a bit abrassive depending on one's natural tendencies, but when i rode in his car, and intalking with hooper, things from larry's hands seem to work as promissed. i hope to find out for myself one day, and i will post any/all numbers i can get my hands on.

Hey one of you serious doubters go post something like the following in the Endyn forum.
"Could someone please post a dyno sheet of their Endyn modified blower?"
and see what happens. I actually don't remember seeing that question over there though I do scan through it quite a bit.
Hell, even if we debate whether something posted is real or not, it would still be interesting.
I'd do it, but I think I'll just be a coward for now, besides there are people here more cynical than I.
-
Wait, before everyone gets too excited!
1) This person obviously has a jacked up install and/or tune.
2) Who's to say he's not bullshitting us just TO make TOO look bad.
Ok, MOST people on this board come because they have problems. Why? A bad initial install. This was the case with my car too when i first joined up. It took me MONTHS to get the crap right and I did it myself with this board's help. This doesn't mean this person isn't having the same BASIC issues (NOTE: basic) we've all seen in the past with the BASIC kit.
You need to get your car to someone competant enough to deal with this upgrade or to list better information on this board so that we can help fully. If we don't have all the numbers and information, we can't help. Also fix the obvious problems. If the clutch is broken/slipping or the axle is jacked the whole time, no wonder the car feels like crap. Get the retard fixes out and then let's deal with "lack of power" issue. What area are you in? Maybe someone from this board can visit you and help. If you're in California, I'm willing to drive wherever with my mechanic buddy to help you out.

Care to mention who this "very experienced" installer is ? At least give us a clue as to whether its a dealer, or a private shop, what state, etc.
This definately sounds like a f*'ed up install or a ruse altogether.
Names and details please
-
When did I say anything negative about Endyn? I saw the SC before they put it on, and it was a work of art. Obvisouly, some time and care was put into the whole system.
I know TOO will help them tune the SC. I posted on Sunday, and like most businesses, Endyn was NOT OPEN. We were all excited to see the car perform, and I merely wanted a few tips to see a) whether something was messed with the install or b) whether someone could help us tune/diagnose any problems.
I am not "bullshitting" or trying to make anyone look bad. Frankly, I don't know when this post turned so goddamn negative.
As we all know, there are some Endyn haters on this group, and I suppose my post allowed them to speak their minds, however, I said nothing against Endyn at all. I'm sure I will send my JRSC to Endyn in the future once I get the cash.
Also, I'm sorry if I upset anyone! This wasn't intended to badmouth Endyn. If someone has a problem with a JRSC, does everyone jump on him, and tell him to stop bashing Jackson Racing? I don't think so. I merely wanted to find a way to at least fixe any problems so the car was drivable, and then, I am sure TOO would help them tune.
The installer has done at least 20 JRSC. He is located in Vancouver, BC, and for obvious reasons, I am not going to mention the shops name. Now that everyone is all negative, who is to say there won't be some _______ shop bashing? I know the installation was done well, but maybe there are some things that need to be taken care of, beyond a usual JRSC install.
BurntGSR: Thank you so much for the offer; however; the car is in Vancouver. Plus, it is not even mine, so it is really not my business. I just wanted to get the car moving normally so my buddy would be even more psyched.
The broken axle also probably contibuted to the reason that the car felt weird. I mentioned this before! I know the problem was tuning and general car-issues, so I'm sure once the owner talks to Larry (and the axle is fixed) everything should be running smoothly.
Thanks. I apologize for stirring up trouble! That was SERIOUSLY unintentional.
-
JSRC_ITR: Don't worry man. A bunch of us are skeptics, some more strident than others. Anytime the Endyne topic comes up you see these posts.
Regardless, I'm sure we would all like to help your friend out. Keep us posted and we'll keep trying to help.
We're still a little short on specifics of your friends problems. Do you have the answers to any of the meaningfull questions above?
Timing? Fuel Pressure? Boost? A/F ratio? Gas mileage?
Don't give up. If nothings melted, I'm sure it can be fixed up.

Well said! I too had the same problem with my JR kit. The install has been said to be one of the nicest installs people have seen. Yet when I hopped on the dyno I hit 155.6whp! Yeah I lost 10+whp from stock. And guess what the problems were?
-Timing
-Wiring of the supercharger
-air/fuel tuning
I think that with some good tuning (which is the key to any car), the kit will produce ALOT of power. The axial forsure is a aid to the problem. I'm sure Larry will go over every detail with you. I know when I was having some problems with the Endyn fuel system install, I called Larry, and he spent hrs helping me, and sending me stuff to help with the install. I know once my name comes up on his huge list (now going into mid next year) my car will fly.
Good luck with the problem solving. Once you start to find problems that make a huge difference in power your friend will have a ear-to-ear smile http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif

The suspense is killing me, what was wrong?
-
TOO (LOL) much fuel! WAY TOO MUCH FUEL! Plus, the broken axle could NOT help much!
-
so this car that you've all been talking about is mine. my friend has told you all about it; but let me tell you, it feels ALIVE! i still haven't pushed it hard because 1) there is a new clutch in there so i have to be patient with it, which is very hard, for atleast 450miles. 2)tunning a car that is running around 14PSI of boost is not a joke. As Rboosted717 said the car after tunning is going to be very fast, right now i need a fuel pressure gauge and a few other things so i can start tuning.I've seen this clip of larry's Civic which some guy was filming from the inside of the car. and The car looks like a bullet! Hell, the boost goes all the way upto 17 pounds!!!!!
Larry tells me that the higher the modifications the more significant tunning will be. Although he is supper busy (i hear he works so hard that he only gets MAX 4 hours of sleep every night) he still has managed to find time to talk to me for a very long time today to help me understand how to tune. He is super nice.
only another 380miles till the clutch is broken in and i can start tunning and start DRIVING! . till then i'm gonna take it easy but i will keep you guys posted...
-
If I had the Endyn mod and a new clutch, it would probably drive me crazy having to break it in.
When I first got my clutchmasters, I took to driving this stop + go winding path through the neighborhood every night just to get it over with.
-
SCGS98: Good to here your running better!
Just make sure to keep your cool and not race when some punk in his riced-up Civic DX revs his soda-straw exhaust at you! It hurts, but you'll get him next time.
I had to let a freakin' Grand Prix beat me in July when I had FPR issues. That sucks!
Post back when you're all broken in.
Greg
-
Yeah break in sucks! I want to hop on the dyno ASAP, to tune my S-AFC, so that I can finally hit the number I should. And with the amount I drive my car, 500 miles will take around 2 months! And I also have to break in the tranny 1000-3000miles! Oh well
