so i'm a'drivin' home last night from tg's
(remember... thats about 30-40 minutes of
drive time) and its foggy as hell. i bet
i could see no more than 20 feet in front
of the car...
its rather scary driving on a highway like
that... especially when the posted speed is
70 mph...
i think i was driving at about 45
for some reason, i was somewhat frightened
by this driving experience. we had bad
fog like this once in GA (which i'm sure
i've posted before)... the fog that happened
on that on night was so dense... it was like
literally a WALL of fog... much closer to
the car than tonight.
anyways... i was cautious.
my biggest fear, believe it or not, was
NOT other cars etc... but moreso of stupid
deer that may wander out....
sure its a far-fetched idea... but i'm sure
even deer cannot see in that fog... and
coulda easily wandered out on the damn
highway.
even at 45 mph, hitting a deer would not be cool.
*waits for incessant mockery*
-
I like fog, but generally, i'm sitting on a bicycle, so the only thing i have to watch out for is myself.
And driving slower with that weather is the smartest thing to do, even though your concern lies more with the deer than with the cars
-
SO YOU WERE THE DUMBASS CREEPING ALONG LAST NIGHT THAT I NEARLY HIT!!!!!!!!!
-
hahahahahahahha!!!! that brought a tear to my
eye... that was so funny!
yeah... there were alot of people driving like
normal last night. but i just couldn't... i dunno
i guess i feel that there should be something
silly about hitting a deer in a dense fog...
something almost embarrassing.
so i drove slower
and jason, yes i remember the rain... but i
don't recall any fog... its prolly a good reason
you shouldn't drive at all.

i have no fear of deer on the road....when they see me tearing down the road at 90 miles an hour...with my lights blazing...my tires humming on the interstate and my big grill and winch staring straight through their small wimly frame...the just pass out and lay down flat...never bothering my truck....
damn it feels good to be driving the biggest truck on this board.
-
LMMFAO!.....
i don't recall ever seeing your vehicle...
i'm sure it isn't all that... :>
-
i will have to post pics of my massive rig

"You think he's compensating for something?"

I grew up in the midwest. headlight-fright freezes most all animals. (You wouldn't believe the number of run-down kitties I had to put down)
-
that's horrible.........................
we hit a deer last weekend *cried so hard for the poor deer...
-
some people actually find it fun to kill deer on purpose, paige.
a real man's man.
-
if we are going into some hunting tangent....
let me stop it now... i don't wanna hear it
*glares at tg*
-
on the topic of hitting deer with your car
you should watch the movie "the straight story" by david lynch. There's a very.. funny scene in there.
-
Driving with deer about is a nerve racking situation. Back a few months ago when we went to Texas, that night driving it was raining pretty hard if you remember....well after the rain was over and we were drivin down those foggy texas highways i kept seeing deer on the side of the road. I prolly saw 10 or so that night.
anyways......see the excitement you missed by sleepin?
heh heh... i just remembered that drunk guy with the bicycle that was saw at the waffle house later that night. heh heh heh
-
all of my future in laws hunt...they do it for food. they eat the meat, every last bit of meat is used, in sausage, steaks, whatever, that is why animals were put on this earth, for us to use as meat and for survival. i would like to get the hunting thing started....
-
oh lord
so the reason they hunt is for survial? will they starve if they dont hunt?
im not gonna continue on with this on the acrop since shatzy requested it but if you wanna start a thread on your board i may wander on over and have a look.

Too stupid to get a job & buy a pound of ground chuck from the supermarket? Still living in the 1890's, slaughtering their own livestock?
-
im just sayin!
grrrr
youre right...better not get me started

heh heh heh... that made me chuckle.
thanks, gravy, for carrying it over to your
board. i think we had this discussion before and
i just simply didn't wanna deal with the BS
of it again.
-
i dont' believe i was around for the conversation last time, but seeing as how my family is going to be all hunters, i would like to here the arguments that people think they really have against hunting....i've received 2 replies, and only one of them had good information. i would really like to get some real opinions on the topic.
-
It was really foggy last night here as well....i was driving home from the pub and the road is sharp corners galore. You couldn't see 1 metre in front of the car, and i was shitting myself about hitting a wombat, coz i know like deer, they can fuck your car up pretty bad.
-
Especially those combat wombats!
-
least she didn't hit a roo.
-
Yeah they are pretty bad too. There are more dead wombats on the road rather than roos though.
-
metre? wombat? pub? what the hell planet do you live on?
