i dunno if anyone here can answer this...
but a few years ago i purchased an anime
classic 'kimba: the white lion'... and have
noticed OBVIOUS similarities between this
movie and the 'lion king'.....
for example:
1) kimba/simba -- both born heir to 'throne'
2) both movies have a drought
3) kimba's mother dies and returns as a
vision in the clouds.... / simba's father
dies and returns as a vision in the clouds
4) kimba/simba save the whole country from
tyranny and death
i tried finding some info on the internet,
and naturally i can't find any....
so, if anyone has seen both of these movies, let me know what you think.... [img]confused.gif[/img]

re-release (not the version i have) back in '97.

*this vhs was released in 1999... from the
original 1966 series*
the particular title in the series that seems
to mimic the 'lion king' was entitled 'go, white lion',
which is the first segment on this vhs.

and someday the business that i manage for will own them too. we own the rest of the entertainment industry...been tryin for years to get Disney. as of now we're buying Universal...say goodbye to any good movies from them again.

That came out a few years ago. Disney ripped-off Kimba. They've probably been lost to current-Net-traffic by now, but there "was" a messageboard post somewhere (not HB) that showed side-by-side cell animation comparisons of Disney's ripoff to Kimba. GAWD, those cheeseballs Disney slackers didn't even have to storyboard the Lion King animation! It was all there in Kimba for them to steal.
