Re Rumsfeld - somebody has to take the heat for this "thumpin'" and you know it's not going to be Dubya.
I don't think there will be much "retribution." I think they want to make progress. They know they were voted in because people want change.
It would be great if the GWB I voted for in 2000 actually returned. I really did believe all of the uniter not a divider stuff. I love a good seperation of powers. Compromise is fantastic and gridlock is sometimes even better.

DOing some googling i found out that since WWII during the second term of a presidency there is always a loss of seats during the 'off' election. This election the results were right on the numbers average wise.
why dont we hear that story in the media?

By becoming the majority party in both the house and senate, all of the committee chairs and the rules also change, especially the power to approve judicial nominees and head up hearings. Of course you can minimize this week's news, but the impact in Washington is rather significant.Quote:
