I am curious. On average, how much did you spend on your setup initially and how much to make you happy with it?

DSM=Bang for the buck! For about $1000 I will increase 30HP+. For another $1500-2000 I'll be over 300HP running high 12's/LOW 13s. 11's are possible on the street but it means compromising smog and idle quality but it's possible if I decide that I want to go that far.

Actually, I just work on Eglin. I spend quite a bit of time in Crestview because my girl lives up there. I have a Grey 94 RS, which I hope to put a turbo charger on one day. I wanted an SC for stealth reasons but I do not want to buy a GSR engine and those seem to be the only engines that the SCs perform on really well from the initial install. First though I have shit to do to my house and then I need to get a second vehicle. By the time I can afford what I want I will probably end up trying to get a newer car.

To date I have spent about $3500. I think with $1000-$1500 I will be happy with this car.

Then it is going to be either a B-series swap into a g2 CRX w/ either turbo or SC or a sr20det into a 240SX. I'm leaning towards the DET swap for the RWD and price.

Funny you should mention Dave. I was just talking to him yesterday and will probably be going by his shop in the next day or two. We probalbly have seen each other at his shop some time. Mine is the Grey RS which badly needs a paint job. I will definitely be asking Dave about your ride. When you were down last, did he tell you about the engine work on his?

For the past 4 years..stock motor days, all-motor hybrid days, then turbo days, I have spent roughly 10k. Im happy, but not content.

In reality, in this sport, no one is going to be content with their cars. Once you reach a certain goal, you would want to break another.

Right now, my goal is to hit 11's. If I accomplish running 11's, I will be content. I have said this before and hopefully keep it. I can finally put my money to something else. However, I highly doubt that.

My build up should be done in the middle of May, and my quest for that elusive 11's (elusive for me anyways) is drawing near.

11's or Bust!!!!!!!!

I would aproximate about 10,000.00, but that doesn't include labor. I am very satisfied w/ my purchases. Total for car, JRSC setup, LSD, and suspension work was around $26,000. I don't think that there is a car out there that I could buy for this price that handles and is as quick as my car.

total ~ $9600 for a 1990 GS bought in 11/98 on 3rd paintjob on 3rd motor.

Best time so far was a 12.98 @ 103Mph http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif back in 9/99 on 14" slicks with 100 shot. Car was slightly gutted and had a lexan/lightened hatch. Sorry no dyno and timeslip is long gone lost somewhere.

Not bad for a cheap setup but I want to do that with a turbo or start over for a Built CRX with JRSC(ENDYN Mod) on Zdyne for street legality. Looking for a 11 sec street monster that can do 12's on street drag radials.
