i think it could be improved. Examples; definitly have some GY band links in it. none of the links have anything that i'm intrested in either. Also needs to be a little more user friendly. One more thing, in the contact part other members adresses should be added.
Its ok for a brand new site tho.

It's based around the area in France called Angers, the town featured in "The Five Quarters of the Orange" a book by Joanne Harris.

Well.

The links page is how it is because Rorie asked me what we wanted on it and I said I dunno, so he just said write down some bands/labels/zines you like and I'll put them on for now. Me and Joseph both reckon theres far too many links on there, and we'll be sorting it out when we haven't got more important things to do, hehe!

As for not having GY bands on there, it just so happened that in all the bands I wrote down for Rorie there was only one GY band in there. Are we supposed to feel something towards your band just because we share a Postal Code? If theres anyone out there that likes The Next Autumn Soundtrack because we're from the same town as you, I really fucking hope you don't get our record.

Has anyone else noticed that in GY theres no unity until somebody wants something..? Like the bitching during "Xmas Gig Ticket Season" or the fact that we put on 4 of the best bands that I can recall playing GY in ages on a couple of months ago and hardly anyone came!! (Thankyou to all who did by the way, it was awesome!)

We used the map of the Loire valley cause the book it relates to means more than GY ever did, and we used that layout because it wasn't simple and boring, how we hope our music is. I hope this doesn't sound too pretentious or a massive diss to loads of people because its not meant in that way..but I guess like Emm said, if it does, I probably won't care.

i can appreciate that.. in a way... but i cant say a take all your points...say what you want about gy, but its what made you..where youre from has a huge part in shaping what you do, the way you do it and where it takes you..you dont need to be proud of it, and i only really made it in passing comment and to show i know my french geography for those who know im going to be living there next year( [img]redface.gif[/img] ), but what youve said since has put me in a different frame of mind.. i apprecaite you probably dont care.. but i like to say what i think.. and thats what i think

You've listed the osterman weekend twice ont he links page and 'proverbial' is spellt incorrectly on the bio page. I had no idea there was so much action on the TNAS itinerary, I think we need a drink in the coachie sammie. I am in GY now for the summer.

Put the bands that you like on the links page, I don't think it's a big deal.

It's an ace site, it sexed me up when I saw it. The layout is ace and you shouldn't have to please anyone when making a website for your band.

yeh, i almost mentioned, that it cant be much of a book, because the music IS shit.... everyone i met in the loire valley was either

al found out that you dont have to scroll down on it. I wouldnt say we're leavin people in the dust. its just the same as you lot goin to uni or whatever... seperate vocations.

grimsby is not part of who sammie is. He was born in middlesborough, brought up in brigg, now lives in Goxhill and does his shopping in Hull.
And like I said under joes monicker, its just the same as goin to Uni or whatever. It is our choice of future employment, and if all fails we can always go to Uni ourselves.
I must disagree with the loire valley meaning more to us than GY ever did tho what with me living and going to school there!

i haven't had any problems with it myself. anyone whose is not working, do you have FLASH installed properly? that might be why. also, sometimes it works better if you do it without the WWW. in the address.

its hard to use because things flash up but there is no clue as to what topic it suggests. the way to adress this problem is to make the map smaller. or have the words pop up over the coloured part of the map.

actualy the problem seems to resolution. there could possibly be a starting screen to give you a choice of 'res'

The whole "why should we blah balh balh cos we share a postal code with you" shit is fucking arrogant.Personally I love to see a gy band do well,its the small part of home town pride that I have,cos many deserve it.There is a lot of talent round here (as no doubt there is anywhere).But dont forget that many of these people are the same people that sang your praises..and a small degree of acknowledgemnt is the least you can do,wether the band meets your required standards or not.

When all is said and done,like it or love it..gy is the place where (most of you) grew up,started your band,played a lot and more importantly where your friends are...success may be yours,but dont think you are better than anyone.
