snake at my front door (pics)

Lookie what was just at my front door about 1/2hr ago. Im still at Uni, and my Uni is built in/around heaps of bush so its not uncommon, we had snakes last year too. This one was a little too close for comfort (ha ha) though because it was like less than metre away from the front door and i dont like the possibilty of that little bugger slithering in to my dorm!! He's just a little skinny bugger though, and not dangerous apparently. Anyway here's some piccies. (sorry if these are a little big)

<font size="3" face="Tempus sans ITC, Papyrus,Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Hmm I cant see them right now either.. very odd. Damn photo bucket!! Ahh well come back later and see him, he's cute and green hehe You'd like him.. there's one piccy where you can see his pretty coloured underbelly

I called campus security to come and put him back in the bush, and the guys didnt even use their snake catching stuff... he just picked it up in his hand, and put it off in the bush. He told me I could pat it if I wanted I maybe would have, had it not been a wild snake and a fairly unexperienced person holding said snake! LOL

awww Jen I am such a pathetic wimp I've disabled pics before opening this topic....you have lived my worst nightmare, harmful or harmless snakes petrify me

Christ Almighty Jen!! I would so have freaked out if I had found anything like that outside my front door!! I'm scared shitless of them!!

Janie xx

YAY! I can see them now.

Awww - he's lovely. [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Aww sorry Barb, I was thinking of putting them inside that spoiler box thing so people could open it without being scared!

Janie I was kind of at a loss as to what to do about it too. At first I thought it was fake and someone was just trying to scare me.... then it moved LOL So ofcourse I called everyone and took piccies (as you do hehe)... then we decided we better do something about it, coz everyone was stranded at the bottom of the stairs and I was stranded at the top...I couldnt get out of my place coz I didnt fancy jumping over the bugger to get down the stairs!

Oh oh oh oh ohoh. Did you pick him up and give him a kiss? He's a big one! *Feeds him a mouse*

Good thing those guys came and put him back in the bush Jen! At least he couldn't have been a poisonous one - do you know what type it was btw?

What brilliant piccies and what a gorgeous looking snake, have you any idea of what type it is???

I'm into my reptiles in a BIG way , we have got a snake called Phil( dumbass name I know lol) as a pet, as well as a bearded dragon ( which we let out and lost last night the found him an hour later hiding under my desk ) and next on our list is a monitor lizard

LOL now lizards I do like cos they're cute and they've got little legs and stuff but snakes nooooo!! You never know what direction they're going to slither in and they seem a bit unpredictable to me

<font size="3" face="Tempus sans ITC, Papyrus,Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I'm not really too sure of what type it was... a green one is the only info I can give heheh Not so helpful, I know The security man did seem to be a bit of a snake buff and was telling us about it, but he either didnt say what type it was, or I wasnt listening (probably the latter LOL) sorry!!

Aww cute - I like lizards alot!! Glad you found the bearded dragon again hehe What do you feed the snakes/lizards??

My beardie is 11 months old and we feed him on locusts, crickets or mealworms(all live)as well as cabbage, lettuce or any type of greens.

The snake is about 18 months old and he has a mouse once every 10 days or so.

Both animals are really tame, my 5 year old goes in the beardies tank whenever she likes and gets him out and he will sit on her for hours being stroked. The snake has only ever bitten once and that was because my father-in-law was being an idiot with him. It was feeding time and he thought it would be funny to waggle the mouse around in front of the snakes face and it struck out and bit him, much to my amusement!!!!

Here some piccies of my pets
