Let's see, this weekend we had three weddings, a medical ethics review board, and a group of evangelical Jehovah's Witnesses. And we're overbooked tonight, but it's a gardening group, so I don't think they count. This has hands down the weirdest mix I've seen since the city of Burlington decided to hold the Folk Fest and the Monster Truck rally on the same night.
So, how did YOUR weekend go?

OK, you win.

-
Yeah, I'd say you were about even until she mentioned Al Sharpton.
-
I spent last weekend in a hotel with Lesbian Japanese Anime fans, a wedding party, a group that was testing to be paramedics, a touring Riverdance! company and Al Sharpton!
-
Welllllll...we had Huey Lewis and the News staying over the middle of the week...I got to talk to him for a moment when he was getting drunk in the bar...but after that, the weekend hit and I actually have been off since about 7 on Thursday and don't go back until Tuesday at noon...so I guess you win this weekend's little conflagration there, eris...heh heh heh...
-
OK, AsIs wins for the sheer enormity of WEIRDNESS involved with Riverdance comming within 100 KM of Al Sharpton.
Oy! All those WHITE Irish-like folks in the same time zone of Al-S, it's just TOO Much!
(ps, I don't like Al, nor Rev Jesse either)
-
Al Sharpton:
Love him or hate him, you have to admit he was wicked funny in "Mr Deeds" and I do respect a "serious" public figure who's willing to make fun of themselves in a movie.
-
Al huh? Sharpy? Pen-man? Who?
-
-
yep. guess who came up when i typed your name into google? you... at the top of the list, some post from april.
and then lots of sites about rituals and a guestbook, articles on some guy being a fake, and about 1500 other sites.

This thread proves that you run into the weirdest people at hotels.
Type my name into Google and you'll eventually (after wading through 35 pages of bran flakes and fiber articles) get to a post related to "She Thinks She Remembers". I love Google.
Type in my last name and you'll pull up tons of rave related stuff.
-
I tried typing "Stranger Than Paradie" into the Google machine thingee and gave up trying to find us after about 20 pages...
-
Wow, we're buried that far huh?
-
well, come on! look at the load of poo we produce around here, is anyone surprised they buried us as far as they could??? We're SCARY man! they don't want us accidently escaping out onto the wide world of the web. the whole eris thing at the top of a list was probably her chaos field acting up...
-
Oh please. We're not even the scariest forum on HOSTBOARD anymore.
-
Oooh...we can have a "Vote For Your Favorite Scariest Forum" Thread...
-
oh I stopped going to the zoo last year. It was just a little too weird. So I stay here, at home, at StP and go very few other places on HB, and when I do I move quickly and carry a large stick.

I understand. I always hate visiting the family, too.

AsIs, don't forget the Baptists that were going to hold meetings after the convention. I saw them put those signs up on Sunday.

Do I get bonus points for the wedding party that lifted two waist high concrete pilons off of their stabilizing rods and dumped on the floor?
-
-
How about the drunk guy that pissed off everyone he knew in the wedding, whose car died, who had no money for a room, who kept knocking on the door off the people he'd pissed off (at 2am, of course), and who lived in Fowlerville? I had to pay $65 for a taxi to get rid of that one...
