Kinda what you would expect from the name, but just barely into the "kind of O.K." realm. But then again, take what I like (not hair bands) and run with my opinion from there. [img]biggrin.gif[/img]
LOL! Yeah, but the drummer they have sounds like you plug him in.
The kind ya plug in are the best kind. but since you can't use them live it looks like I'm gettin stuck playin drums in the band I sing for. This is going to be interesting. It's not that I don't have the independence to do it, it's just that I did NOT want to play drums in this band. Oh well. Such is life.
The recordings suxx, so its hard to say.
Hmmm - but it sounds like they need more then a new drummer.

Stuff like Warrant is what killed Glam, that and the overflooding of shit bands that happens with every musical movement. It was bound to fall from the top eventually, everything does. I sound passionate about this because I AM the singer/guitarist of the band in question. We have 100's of songs, but the 3 that I posted are the demos with the best sound clarity. BUT, They are DEMOS, which means the aren't polished, or even really finished.
Slamming everything, and calling everything outside one's own narrow musical preferences is what put glam on the back-burner in the first place. Keep it up and it will die completely.
And if you ever paid attention, you might know t that the much hated Grunge movement was originally an off-shoot of Glam that the labels such as Sub-Pop fucked up. Have you ever seen a picture of Green River? Have you ever seen Mother Love Bone?
Lastly, he asked for our opinions. We told him what we thought. I knew you might be out there reading, so I was being "nice". I was letting him know that it was indeed in the style of "Glam" that I don't like, so I couldn't really say if it was very good on those levels. The sound makes it that much harder to decide.
If you have been lurking out there and reading the site, then I am glad you may have gotten offended, as it drew you out of the wood work and now we have another voice, something this "scene" needs more of. If somebody told on us for talking about you and you came to slap our hands, well stick around. Either way, welcome to our spot on the web. Stick around, you'll find that Glam is FAR from dead!

Oh, and I am sorry, but I am so sick of the excuse of "it's only a demo"!!! People, SPEND SOME FUCKING MONEY!!! If you don't get a good sound, nobody is going to take you serious, and in this day and age, it ain't that hard to get a good sound for a little money.
Sorry, but the Glam movement pisses me off in those regards. So few Glam bands actually turn out decent demos. Too many are stuck in the 80's and not moving ahead with technology. I only say this because the claim of "100's of songs" is made. You record that many songs and that is the best quality you come up with? Show some respect for your songs man! Stop recording a million songs, and take 5-10 of the puppies, drop some money and give them respect.

Wow! Sorry to cause a rukkus! The olny reason that I asked people to listen is because I have access to a computer at school ONLY!, and they have no speakers (or sound card for that matter). I cant hear anything. I was looking to find out what this was. Thanks for helping me. I cant wait to get another computer and hopefully I can hear mp3's on it!

I said we have hundreds of songs, but only about 30 are recorded, and about half of those were recorded live by a camcorder, with a guitarist who is gone (sucked anyway) and a drummer who left to do covers (so he wasn't even as creative as the drum machine).
I only posted the songs, because you have to have something available for people to listen too or they ask for it. It clearly labled them Demo to prevent people from assuming that they were finished product. All they are is an idea of our songwriting.
And yeah Mother Love Bone was glam to the end. Unfortunately Andrew Woods died and Pearl Jam rose (or sank) from the ashes of a great band. Alice In Chains was also glam(in the beginning), but by the time they made it to market they were the crap I was referring to (them and nirvana - whom I won't even discuss). The point is I know the history of glam from Ziggy, & Mott The Hoople, all the way through to The Loving Dead. Heart Throb Mob, and Foxy Roxx. A lot of the hair-bands were crap, but many did contribute beautifully to glam.
I just discovered the board 3 or four days ago and intend on sticking around. I said my piece.

Oh yeah, I never said Warrant thought they were Glam. But it was the people and the companies that do. How many people did I always mention my bands being Glam to, and they always said "oh, like Warrant and Poison?", to which I just clinched my teeth and walked away.
I think we pretty much agree on all things. I would be interested in hearing more of your stuff, if for no other reason than giving a fair chance all around. I do believe you can get a decent idea of what a band is after even through shitty recordings. Just so damn frustrating as so much of Glam is flooded with poor quality sound.

I though that everything after page 7 (or what-
ever it is) was your lot.
I think you were a bit unfair about glam
bands not churning out decent demos. There's no
excuse for it nowadays of course, but there
was some cracking demos (decent compression and
vitalizer outboard, etc.) coming out of the
bigger cities back in the old dark days of tape.
Saying that, a demo isn't enough anymore. I spent
Friday co-ordinating a four camera shoot for local
new rock band, The Johnsons, who decided to
illegally gig on the pavement until they were
arrested (a'la Beatles and U2, blablabla), and
their manager asked Spark - well, me - to
document it all. At the end of it all, they get
a DVD with i) the news report we'll edit for
Spark, ii) the 30/60 minute documentary of the
day, and also, using the best bits of footage
and some other stuff I've got of theirs here,
a promo vid for one of their CD demos tracks.
A pretty powerful calling card - plus, of course,
all the other local bands and will be jealous and
want to pay us trillions of quid to do one for
them too. Lovely jubley.

No, I was saying that I don't a new band using the excuse of a demo suonding like crap because it is a "demo". If you REALLY care to have a decent sound, it isn't that hard at all to achieve a good sound. Glam, and oddly enough, Prog Rock are two styles of music that just don't evolve with technology. It took Prog and Glam both FOREVER to finally start using the new invention of "MP3" to their advantage. Also, look how bad many Glam bands sites looked for a LONG time.
I have a hard time accepting the production on HTM's stuff for crying out loud. But Jerry Vayne explained why those sound the way they do, and I guess I will accept it. But still, my demos from '93 sound better than those two albums, and we had no following whatsoever, but still cared enough to spend money and time to get the best sound we could. A band in year 2003 (as this was at the time) has no excuse to not turn out a good sounding product. But this guy did explain it wss NOT for public consumption, so that is a viable excuse.
Hell, I can't even remember what it sounded like.
Music evolution to me is invariably productional.
All I want a rock band to do is plug in some amps
and kick ass. If they've pissed away their advance
on coke and booze, as opposed to a decent engineer
and/or website designer, then they've only got
themselves to blame for getting left behind. Then
again, how much money is thrown at glam bands
nowadays? Also, has say the songs that Sixx is
involved with really benefitted from getting Pro
Tools to death, or are they just simply sonically
better?
I'm surprised to hear you say that prog belatedly
evolved, because surely those guys are buying
new synths and fiddling about with computers all

Honestly, AIC were better when they stopped been glam, they are the only grunge band I can stand.. the lyrics REALLY evolved if you listen to the gay ass stuff they did as a "glam" band.

What I like about Jani is...he can pick up an acoustic and write a damn good song. And I agree...Sebastian Bach is a great vocalist as well.
I guess what I like in a vocalist is someone that can actually sing...ala Jani Lane, Sebastian Bach, Hugo, Steve Perry, Mitch Malloy, Kyle Vincent.
