Bands that make you say HOW DID THEY GET SIGNED?

Have you ever heard music from a band that is signed on a label...and the thought comes to your mind...HOW IN THE HELL DID THEY GET SIGNED???

To answer my own question, I'll have to say the new popular band that MTV seems to think is the next big thing...MODEST MOUSE.

I've thought it many times but someone in all their wisdom at the record company, must believe in them!!!!
But like films they can be crap to some people but brilliant to others. The directors think they are good or they wouldn't make 'em.
But there again some of the Glam bands that I was into used to get there knocks by people around me but look at things now I am finding loads of people still into the very bands I was being told were crap all those years ago!!!
