I am obviously kiddin... I can't view it though (I get: "unable to download appropriate decompressor"), so I can only listen and I am really digging it, nice "Raw" Fusion. Your playing is very clean and done with taste... Inspiring.

Wierd, when I played it I got the same thing, just the audio. The only difference was that it crashed my pc!! I couldn't move my mouse and the whole thing froze. When I ctr-alt-del nothing happened, so I had to hard reboot.
Is there something wrong with my pc or is Steve playing with our minds? (and pc's!) [img]wink.gif[/img]

Well it was an error on my part. I saw the clip and it Rox! Lovely playing as usual Setve. Great hands, great musicianship and lovely phrasing. Chops-a-plenty too! [img]biggrin.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/music.gif[/img]
I play it on the latest mediaplayer with left mouse button on play with winzip! No problems at all.
Wow Steve, impressive. Great drumming and music. Besides the quality of both visual and sound is very good.

Great playing Steve! A little blush-da there in the swing break, (2:10) very nice! How in the world do you get that one hand flam down? (00:47 & 1:47) Sounds like the flam stroke could be the rim, ride or foot, or is it just a rim shot? I hear Weckl do the one hand flam alot. Nice DOOMIII shirt! Don't tell me your testing that game! I will need a new PC for that one!

Wow you guys are fast! Thanks for the nice words! Those having problems playing it should ge the latest WM player here. Mac users will need a QT version, I'll cook one up soon.
Bergermeister: The flams are pretty straight-forward. The first is just the RH on cymbal with BD coming down slightly ahead of the LH on the snare. Second one is just RH on the floor tom ahead of the left on the snare with crashes in between them. =)
Roy: We play the chicken in 7 (We call it Seven Chickens, heh). Check John Flitcrafts site for more clips.
I may go back to that studio and film some instructional/ explanations of the stuff I played, or it may just be the tunes. Not sure yet.

Thanx Steve! I see/hear what your doin! I'll work on that. Been workin on all the Flam Rudiments lately. RL good LR weak. Concentrating on invert strokes and finger pressure.

I've been checking out your video-
SHED SOME LIGHT- and really like your attitude on the last solo. Now that's the spirit of where I wanna go. I love it when you sit down and think for a split second and then just attack the idea. That was deceptive and a very nice intro to the solo.
A lot of drummers would just ease into it , but you take control it from the get go.
Now for the Altered clip-
I do think you should ax the Chicken. That's just played too much IMHO. Even if it's in 7.
Originals are the way to go for our generation.

I think the chicken is a fun song (despite my bashing the DWB turning into a note fest) but I can see how one may think that.
NOTHING PERSONEL is the Jazz Cover Tune of Death for my generation I think.
TOMBO: I did some Hi Hat, BD, cymbals and other stuff on a couple tunes from Celines fairly recent release. That producer Gee Rosch calls me for kit stuff but 90% of his tunes are programmed.

Yeah, Nothing Personal and how many times have we all played Softly as a Morning Sunrise. (Real good burnout tunes though)
We should be writing the new standards for the next generation.
Sounds like you're in the right band. You get to play all the cool stuff.
The guitarist reminds me of Bill Connors and Holdsworth on some of the tunes, especially the first tune in 3.
What is that snare? It's nice!

We recorded 8 tunes. 2 of them were straight-ahead swing tunes. The other 6 we used a click on (no click on the jazz stuff, that would be silly I think.)
I Like Softy too but I think more so I like All The Things You Are.
Getting familiar with standards is one of the best things a drummer can do who wants to play jazz. One of my best friends is a jazz guitarist and I've done countless gigs with him and it was the best thing I ever did for my playing.
Cost for you, 300.00. that makes up for you screwing John and I. Man you are like a mosquito. I wish you lived near by so someone could swat your ass.

I was finally able to see Steve's clip today at work during a break. Unfortunately, I have dial-up access at home so I don't always get to see or hear most of the music clips on HOD. I really enjoyed it. Thanks Steve for sharing it with us. I am looking forward to getting your DVD.

Heads were clear emporer. My first experience using them in the studio. I really liked them. Don't know what to say about tuning. I just mess with it until I like how it sounds I guess. Bottom head tuned highter than the top normally.
