...are staring at me through their binoculars. Should I be worried?
I'm on the eigth floor and they're on the ninth right across the street. They're thirtysomethings, as far as I can tell, and there are three of them. They are passing those things back and forth between each other. This is very odd.
What a week to have my curtains in for cleaning. Seriously. I have no curtains.
-
Ahhhhhh, to be across the street with Binoculars...
-
Find your camera, point it at them, and stand there in the window. Should make for a good reaction...
-
Or just go whole hog and shoot a paint gun at them...
-
Well, Jadian, you are a young female who is, if I may say, "hot". Which is not meant to excuse their behavior, of course.
They're probably waiting for you to walk by in your undergarments or, preferably, naked. So...
1. Ignore them.
2. Hang a sheet or blanket over the window.
3. Buy a spare set of cheap curtains.
4. Give them a little thrill by walking by in undergarments or wrapped in a towel.
5. Give them a bigger thrill by walking by naked.
6. Get Ein, turn down the lights, and put on a "show". *winkwink*
They seem to bother you a good bit, so I'd recommend 2 or 3.
-
jadian, on a serious note, if they are bugging you, go down to a Target, Walmart etc and buy a cheap shower curtain and hang that up. You can get them for a few bucks.
-
Just seconding Asis' motion.
-
I agree with GeekGirl, except replace camera with gun. See what kind of reaction that gets.
-
Well, I guess they're still at it. Ein got up this morning, and it's hot here, so he's wandering around naked, and I guess he wandered into the living room, and I guess those guys were out there again, 'cause all I heard was "What the FUCK?!" and then a lot of profanity.
I guess he stood there, nude, and told them off for all the street to hear.
They aren't out there anymore.

Big thumbs up for Ein.
And I do mean that (although it should be noted that in the Jones World o' Fantasy, Ein is your cat most of the time).
take care

ps. It should also be noted that in the JWoF, you chose Crazy's option #5, which might be presumptuous but certainly preferable relative to the bizarre implications of option #6.

Keep that one. He's a gem. *looks at jones* You know, for a cat.

-
So Ein actually chose my option. ;)
-
oh well, they deserve it anyhow...
-
uh, what Eris said...
-
Well, Ein can get pretty feisty, for a cat. You should see when I try to give him a bath... yikes.
I am convinced most felines have a wide ranging vocabulary. Haven't you ever heard them swear at each other?
-
JAdian, big kudos to Ein!!!!
I had a great mental image of him leaning out the window, yelling and cursing.
If you have any more problems, I'd hang a sheet in the window and buy a fake gun, paint it shiny black and pretend like you are huntin them.
-
I would have taken the gun option, btw. But you know how my brains work this period.
-
Oh my gosh! That's too funny/great about Ein. Wish I could have heard that. Good for him. Still I liked the paintball idea.
-
Future reference. And you could teach Ein how to use it. He seems like a clever... cat.
-
I loved that image of Ein. It was much better than Jadian walking in front of the window in a towel. No offense to those who suggested it, but I really don't think that would get the desired effect of having them go away. Next time she walked by a window there would be twenty guys in the same apartment, all with binoculars.
Oh, and I posted my question to eris in the advice column thread bbefore I read this thread, so I wasn't trying to make a joke out of Jadian's situation.
-
Sometimes it just works like that. Jung called it the collective unconscious. I call it mass delusions.
-
I think I missed an opportunity to be obnoxious here...
-
Of course if that's all anybody sees then they must be looking at you two through binoculars.
-
-
Yeah, how does Jadian know what these guys are doing anyhow? She must be looking at them with binoculars.
-
Hey, you know... that's a good question.
-
You ask her, I'm not gonna. I like breathing.
-
Ah Jax, there is still time. For example...
I guess it would be wrong of me to rent the apt right next to them...

Can I get the apt right next to Jadian? All day long, all anybody sees is me and Asis with the binocs, staring each other down...
-
I can't tell you how hard I was laughing after reading about Ein. Way to go, um, kitty.
-
I didn't realise everyone on this board had such terrible eyesight!
Believe me - when I say right across the street, I mean it. This is downtown Vancouver and the two highrises are about fifty feet apart. The West End is the most densely populated area in Canada. I can watch my neighbour's tv if I want to!
And I don't own binoculars. So there.

The whole world binocularizing itself....
