Who does everyone think will be in the regional tournament? Here's my picks:
BDD #1 - Honaker
BDD #2 - Hurley
CD #1 - Castlewood
CD #2 - Rye Cove
LPD #1 - Gate City
LPD #2 - Pound
I think it will be between Gate City and Honaker for the region, but Pound will do some damage in the tourney as well. It will all depend on the brackets.
I agree with your number ones but anything can happen in the BDD and CD with the number twos.
How can you not have TW in the top 2 in the CD??? They're in 1st place right now and have already beaten RC, SP, TS, and Erv. Heck they're 8-2 and 4-0 in the CD
Well these are just PREDICTIONS!!! I could put St. Paul and Ervinton in the top 2 in the Cumberland and it wouldn't make a difference. Why? BECAUSE ITS JUST A PREDICTION, SOMETHING THAT HAS ABSOLUTELY NO BASIS IN REALITY! sheesh [img]graemlins/sure.gif[/img] If you wanna put C-wood and TW in the top 2 go ahead. Why doesn't anyone post their predictions and opinions on here instead of just ripping on the opinions of others?
Well seeing as how the post was made on April 24 and as of that date RC isnt even .500 in the district I don't think there's much of a chance of them making the region tourney.
c-wood will make some noise in the regional i do believe....honaker is not that good.....but thats just my opinion....
I thik Rye Cove will be in the thick of things when the District Tournament comes around and will make some noise when/if they make it to the Regional playoffs. Castlewood isn't that good but everyone else in the Cumberland isn't that good either overall I stick with the Cove.

c-wood is a lot better team than rc they had 5 or 6 errors at the cove......
but c-wood ill make some noise in the region...thats a promise.....

I think Ervinton would have won the Region but they suffered an early first round loss because Chantry was not feeling well.

I really think this is shaping up to be a great Region D tournament this year.
I agree! Rye Cove vs Haysi should be a classic, but Gate City shouldn't have too much trouble with whichever team advances. And whoever Honaker faces, I don't really know much about any of the LPD teams except Kelly, GC, and Coeburn, but whoever else comes outta there will give Honaker a good run, and C-Wood will be ready to give whoever they play a good game! I can't wait! I predict Honaker and GC in the finals! Both teams got a pretty good shot at making a run in state!

i believe castlewood and gate city will meet in the finals.....
cw is playin some solid ball and if they pitch good and but the ball in play and get some solid d....they can compete
Looks like kelly has turned thing around would not want to play them right now.
kelly is a typical jj kelly team. just like last year, they have improved all year. now they believe in themselves. honaker better bring their "A" game to beat kelly. wish honaker all the luck in the world, (except when they play castlewood) in the region tourny.

Kelly talent-wise,much like last year's squad,is thinner than they have been in years. We have some great kids coming up in the next 2-3 years. Having said that,this Indian squad is one of the hardest-working group of guys that i have ever seen at Wise. The kids have the heart of a lion,and know what it means to play baseball at JJK. It's all about tradition,knowing what is expected of you,and turning it up a notch come playoff time. When Shupe left,everyone wrote us off for dead,but thanks to Coach Wyrick and these hard-working guys,we are again going to Regions,just like last year. The Tribe deserves to be here,and we are looking forward to the challenge of playing a solid Honaker club,and their class act Coach Harding. Honaker may beat us,they may not,but i promise you they will not intimidate us.
I bet you guys sure enjoyed beating Burton all those times this year! [img]wink.gif[/img]

What is hilarious is that Shupe commented after leaving Wise that the crop of ballplayers he would be coaching at Norton was much better than the crop of Indians that he was leaving behind. good 'ol Mackie is 1-4 vs. the Tribe.
Wonder if we've seen the last of Shupe?

If I was him, I woulda just hung up my whistle after I left Wise. He'll never win another state title again, let alone a regional or even a district championship.
