Nora paced back and forth in her bedroom. Back and forth.
He is going to call you/No he's not/He is going to call you/No he's not.
She stopped pacing; pacing was only really satisfying if you can stomp loudly. Her room was above her parents and her brother's room, and so if she indulged in some stomping someone would ask what she was stomping about. Which she really didn't want.
She sat on her bed for a few minutes, glaring at the phone. Ring, phone, ring! Come, on Chris, ring!Nothing. Jedi mind tricks didn't work when you weren't Jedi.
She lay on top of her bed, and picked up a book- Jane Eyre. Nora had read the book so often that she could open it at any place and pick up the storyline. In fact, she hated the beginning third. Nora couldn't bring herself to feel sorry for little orphan Jane, so she didn't read that part, ever. Her mother had told her not to read it, the first time. About the 10th time, she felt ought to read it, so that she could say that she had read it.
She started reading, but she wasn't really paying attention. If he doesn't ring me, I don't care. It doesn't really matter.Nora knew it was a lie to herself.

James paced around his room impatiently.
His father had promised to be home by now. Obvisiously the operation had aken longer than it meant to be, stupid woman banging her head on the toilet while she was cleaning and giving herself a hermorage.
Stupid girls, they were all stupid, none wanted him for what he really was, it was just the same old thing. Money.
James decided to go for a drive in his Blue Mitshibisi Evo 6. It was a nice car, fully modified and all, one of the fastest on the drag strip. doing times of 9.8s. Blitzing any skyline on the park.
"ha" he laughed to himself, "that stupid clarke in the skyline, it was a piece of shit"
He climbed into his car, backed out of his shed and drove off down the road.
"Time to see what this baby can do."

(ooc)Ok, so we're starting again are we?
Tiberius Frost strolled lazily down the dimly lit streets. Flying took too much out of him, so he usually used it to get home.
He saw a bus approaching, and decided to get on.
As it passed him he leapt up on top, and sat down cross-legged. His blue hair streamed casually in the wind. A blue car passed, with a white shoe stuck in the grill. Frost smiled quietly to himself.
'Ah, good times...'

(Ignoring the Previous Two posts)
Chris walked home, glad that he had gotten somewhere with Nora. She was a nice girl. Had a nice smile.
The afternoon passed without incident. He had something to eat, did his homework, then watched some crap on TV for an hour or so.
They had dinner pretty early in the Wesley household, usually around 6. After dinner, he thought it'd be a good idea to give Nora a call, to try and sort something out. He hadn't been to the movies by in a while, and it had been even longer since he'd last taken a girl to the movies.
He suddenly realised that he didn't write the number down, and he didn't know her last name.
"Shit."
"Fuck."
This continued for some time. After a couple of minutes, he stopped being annoyed with himself and realised that he'd heard the number mentioned before somewhere.
That was it! Sean had given him the number, he already had it on his phone!
He got his phone out of his pocket, found the number, then found the portable phone in the kitchen.
4-3-1-1-6-8-6
...
...
The phone at the other end started ringing
*Click*
"Hello?"
"Hi, it's Chris, is Nora there?"
-
The phone rang! Nora pounced.
"Hello?"
"Hi, it's Chris, is Nora there?"
" Speaking."
She replied. He had called.
Her mother knocked on the door. " It will be for me, Nora. I gave my friends your number, seeing as you dont use it."
" Oh, no, its for me."
" Oh, really. Don't worry, then."
Nora would get the 20 questions later.
" How are you? Sorry about that; Mum thought it was for her."
-
Chris waited as a couple of voices talked in the background.
"How are you? Sorry about that; Mum thought it was for her."
"Oh, fair enough. I'm ok, sorry I didn't ring earlier."
He wasn't really, but she answered the phone pretty quickly, like she had been sitting waiting for a while.
-
" Oh, thats fine. Its a good thing you didn't ring earlier, anyway; my mother was using my line for most of the afternoon."
Only a little lie; her mother had been on the phone for a part of the afternoon, anyway.
-
Chris was not usually good at phone conversations. He liked talking to them in person.
"Do you have your own phone line? That's pretty cool, we've only got one. Luckily I only have a younger brother, and he doesn't use it too much."
He remembered why he had called in the first place.
"So, did you want to go to a movie tomorrow night?"
-
" Yeah, sure. I'll have to ask my mother, but it should be fine. What is showing at the moment?"
Nora wasn't very good at phone conversations, either. She was not good at reading people in person. It was even harder to do when you can't read the body language. Like talking over the internet; you can never tell if someone is being sarcastic.
-
Chris looked around for the paper. He had written some movies on it before, as well as times. He found it on his desk, next to a pile of cds and a bunch of books.
"Umm, theres a few ok ones on this week. Bulletproof Monk, Pirates of the Caribbean- how old are you? Theres a few more, but they're R16."
Chris thought it was funny that he'd never asked her age. She looked sixth form, like him, but could have been a fifth former. He was never too good with ages.
-
" I'm sixteen. What else is on?"
Neither of the two suggested movies sounded partically thrilling, so far. It occurred to Nora that the point of going to a movie wasn't necessarily to see a movie. However, Nora dismissed this idea; no matter what the real point was, she didn't want to pay to see a movie that didn't look interesting.
-
This news made thing slightly easier for Chris.
"Well, Black Hawk Down just started, it looks pretty good. did you want to go see that?"
Suggesting movies one at a time wasn't a great way to get things done fast, but what the hell. He had time, if she didn't then she'd hurry it up.
-
" Black Hawk Down sounds great. I'll just have to ask my mother. What time does it start, sorry?"
" After school, it's on at 5:00, 7:30 and 9:00. Any time suits me, when do you want to go?"
" Five, I think. Just a moment."
Nora put the phone down and padded downstairs.
" Woudl it be okay if I go to see a movie tomorrow night with a friend? I shoudl be home by nine."
" Who is your friend?"
" Chris."
" How did you meet her?"
" Him. Out at the bus stop."
" Oh. Well, I'm sorry, darling, but we are having a dinner party tomorrow evening. I didn't think to tell you, seeing as you never go out, anyway. I bought you a stunning new dress this afternoon, by the way. Your fathers business associates and their children. You could invite your friend along too, perhaps? If he has a suit, that it. He does have a suit, doesn't he? Well, if he does, tell him to arrive no later than five."
" Yes, Mother. Thankyou."
" That's fine, darling."
Nora ran back up the stairs.
" I can't go. My parents are having a dinner party tomorrow evening. But you are invited, if you have a suit. You have a suit, don't you?"
She didn't wait for reply.
" Now, it starts at five, so dont be any earlier than 5:10. Fashionably late. That is, if you would like to come."
The very thought made Nora nervous.
-
Chris was surprised. He sat in stunned silence for a second. Party? Suit? Her place? Suit? Jeez. This was a bit unexpected. Suit? Different from the movie he was expecting to go to. Suit? Chris still thought that was a bit strange. He had a decent suit, just a black tux, nothing special. He got it a while ago, but it still fitted. He only really wore it to weddings and funerals. Called it his Married/Buried suit.
Ah, what the hell, Chris thought. Always a good idea to try something new. Besides, Nora would be dressed up as well, he figured she'd look great.
**...Crap, better say something. I've been thinking for a while now**
"Sure, that'd be fine. I've got a suit. Where do you live, exactly? I'll make sure I'm there on time."
Chris thought he should give his car a wash, if he was going out. The inside kind of needed a vaccuum too.
-
Nora smiled. She could understand how this kind of thing could be intimidating. Or strange. A far cry from the movies.
" Section 15 in Mayfair Park. The code to get in the gate is 5317#. We are the plot at the top of the hill; you can't miss it. It will be lit up like a christmas tree. See you then, I suppose. Or at school tomorrow, perhaps."
