dammit. (today's haul)

went out to get a book to take with me to work tomorrow, and figured I'd stop by the KB in that mall as I hadn't been there for a while. they had s25, and as I was flipping through them out of boredom, I noticed a redeemer tucked away behind the other figures. and it had full green wings, which was what I'd been looking for, but had given up on.

I tugged it off the peg and looked at it for a bit, thinking "shit! I wish I'd held off on getting the one I did from meijers the other week that has just plain white wings. oh well..I'll just put this one back, as I do have one already."

then, a little voice in the back of my head piped up, and proceeded to hold a "devil on my shoulder" conversation with me for the next 5 minutes.

"so get it anyways. you wanted one with green wings. look, you're holding one in your hand. you'll probably never see one with wings that green again. niiiiice wings. preeeeeeetty wings. greeeeeeeen wings. do it!"

"shut up, evil voice. I already have a redeemer. I don't need another one! it'd just be spending $10 on something I already have. that's like..most of a tank of gas. or movie tickets for hellboy tomorrow. and I just spent $12 on a book."

"GREEEEEN! PRETTY! and, might I remind you, you have a *job* now. you get a paycheck. you can afford to buy the figure AND a tank of gas AND hellboy tickets, AND another few books if you wanted without worrying about your bank account."

"no. have redeemer. not getting another one."

"pssst..perhaps someone from the board will take the spare non-green winged redeemer if you insist on having only one. and, once more..GREEN! PRETTY! aww go on. you know you want to. and I won't shut up until you do."

"oh..ok. fuckin voice."

so now I have two redeemers. one with nice completely green wings, and one with white and patchy mold spot green wings. can't decide if I'm going to hang on to the white winged one to repaint or not..if I decide to get rid of it, I'll offer it up here first.

I thought I picked up the one that had the green wings, but now I am rethinking that position.

completely green wings? can you provide a pic? mine one has almost completely white wings and the other is just highlighted in green

I have one that is severely highlighted in Green, and seen some others like it.

I detached the wings and took pics of them with the white wings of my other redeemer..they're completely green...even the bottom feathers. there isn't a bit of white that's not green tinted on them, unlike the wings I've seen on most redeemers, which are mostly white with little green spots. my camera sucks, so excuse the quality of the pics.

That is the one I picked up from Game stop a few weeks ago.

they look pretty different in the first pic she shows. the one set of wings does look like all green as compared to the ones I have

I got the blotchy kind. gonna paint 'em all white anyways.

that's what mine looks like, more or less.
also, the spots on the wings are uneven. I mean one wing has quite a bit, and the other has almost none...

was the last ser25 fig that TRU had. and only one...

when I picked this one out, there were quite a few more and I picked up the one with the least amount of green on the wings. Now I want one with all green wings. My other has more green than this one, but less than the all green one. I love this figure alot and wouldnt mind having a few. seriously thinking about giving a shot at a black repaint of it.

I figured if I left it there, someone would buy it, and I'd never find one with that much green again. especially as every single other redeemer I've seen has the white with little tiny patches of green wings.

s25 has managed to do something that no other line has done. I have two biker chicks, two redeemers, and if I find the walmart raven, I'll get two of that. if this is a sign of things to come, my books and my figures will soon be fighting for shelf space instead of peacefully coexisting the way they do now. especially with all of the new lines coming out.

and speaking of green things, I'll have that little voodoo doll thing done for you soon. it's almost finished..he'll be coming to work with me tomorrow to be completed. maybe I can freak out a few students with him..eye them during their tests while stabbing the needle into its head.

funny thing is that I ended up screwing up and giving him the wrong test..and he didn't speak up and tell me. he sat there for an hour and a half and took the wrong test, then took the right one a few minutes later. perhaps he was afraid of my voodoo. muahahahaha

I don't reeally think that's a variation... when putting a wash on a figure some will always come out full and others come out light.

We had a weird variation on the 13 inch Violator back in the day, and not many people could even notice it. To start with, they were molded in light grey with a dark wash, and later they were dark grey plastic with a light dry-brush. The only real way to tell them apart (since there were always some darker and lighter) was by looking on the bottom of their feet.

But I like the white wings for customs, and the green wings for the real toy.

Though I'm sure Ebay will have a few listings stating "Super rare green winged Redeemer! BIN $25" . It's not the same as the walmart raven variation, or the T-800 Endoskeleton chestplate & Fender Hendrix changes either, but hey.

I did get the extra biker chick to repaint, but after deciding that she looks pretty damned cool as is, I'm leaving her MIP. if I ever get my hands on one of those walmart ravens, I'll open that one. I just remembered there's a big walmart that's on the same road as the place I work at, so next time I'm heading to or from work I'm going to go ahead and check that out. hopefully they'll have a raven there. no matter how hard to find that one is, I'm gonna crack that clamshell open. perhaps I'm strange, but I derive a small amount of pleasure from opening a figure that's an exclusive or that's really hard to find. perhaps it's the distant sound of a thousand scalpers crying that does it.

though there are a few things I've left in their packages. I never did open the comic con exclusive AOME twilight frodo/ring wraiths pack I got at WWC last year, and I have an extra s22 original valkerie that's MOC. her fate was to be the same as biker chick's..I was gonna repaint her. she's currently residing in my pajama drawer along with biker chick 2..heh. I'll hang them on a wall when I move out and have more space for it.
