Hiya guys
A message to all my felllow Brits, I've learned that Sting will be on the next Jonathan Ross Show next friday (BBC1). I'm guessing that he's going to be doing some tracks from his new album. Subsequently, I'm praying that I'll be able to see Vinnie on TV from the comfort of my sofa! One can only hope!

Nice one! My town has a kind of pirated tv company where they give us about 5 english channels bounced from sky digital for ?50 a yr! (one of them being BBC 1 [img]smile.gif[/img] )

Not last friday if it was on, but next friday, and then the jonathan ross show as planned. im working til 9 but i'll set my VCR to record it for me.

Yeah, Vinnie was on the show after all. When I saw Sting and Dominic Miller playing Shape of My Heart I was like, "ah no! where's the drums!"
But then at the end they played the new Sting track. The camera didn't focus on Vinnie that much but it did towards the end as he flew round the toms during some tasty drum breaks.
They always play live on the J Ross show. Last week they had David Bowie. The drummer was Sterling Campbell, one of my favourite players, is anyone else into him? He plays with nice, muscular style but with some great subtleties and nuances.

yeah i saw it......its good to see such stellar musicians performing on normal TV and actually playing LIVE........and sting is still writing progressive and new music and allowing these wonderful players to stretch out on it.
by the way.....what sting albums have vinnie on them and wot are the best? dvd's & videos too??
Louie, Ten Sumners Tales and Mercury Falling have Vinnie on them. Brand New Day has Vinnie and Manu Katche. His last live album, All this time was Manu. My favourites are T.S.T's and M.F.
I've heard his latest single off the new album on the radio and was very un-impressed. I hope the album is better,
Vinnie was great on the Jonathon Ross show, the camera man picked up a some much better shots of Vinnie than Top of the Pops. A great shot of his left hand playing 16th on the hi-hat.
The first tune that sting performed was 'Shape of my Heart' played acoustic with Dominic Miller. But the second tune 'Send Your Love' with Vinnie and the Full band was actually pre-recorded the week before.
