I got about $800 to spend on something. What should I buy? My current setup is listed at the bottom. Right now I'm thinking about shocks, gears, and the MSD 6BTM. Or, since my girlfriend wants to buy me the KYB AGX's, I could try and wait to see if another Quaiffe LSD group buy develops. I would love to get that LSD for around $800-$1000 if that's even possible.
What do you guys think?

You won't see a quaife gb anytime soon. If you are running stock suspension, think about upgrading that. The stock GS-R suspension is really soft. A brake kit is a good idea with the power you have, or try water injection for more power, or a timing control unit, or even a J&S Safeguard.

Consider the new JR BTC... similar to the MSD-BTM only it also has a revamped timing curve for open/closed loop operation. It allows you to run your original timing (yes, 16' BTDC) without the detonation in the mid-range.
It sells for a mere $399.00

That Jackson BTM thing might be worthy, someone local has one and I have heard it is amazing, cant wait to see for myself.
But I cant say enough about a LSD, it will make a HUGE difference, next to the blower the best investment. Or get a J&S adds to the safety for tuning.

I would get an LSD in a heartbeat however at around $1400 for the Quaiffe, I don't know if it's worth it. I heard about that groupbuy a while back where people were getting it for around $800 and if I saw something like that again, I'd be there in a second.
And from what I heard, the other LSD's aren't as good so I'd want to get the quaiffe.

larry (T.O.O.) routinely dicounts the Quaife units. you can also contact Ralph at Quaife America (AKA Autotech), he may be able to do something for ya, as he is a really great guy. i was in on the groupbuy, which will NEVER happen again. all i can say is that no matter the price, the quaife is worth every penny; from performance, to reliability, to customer service, you will not find better. i just LOVE mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was thinking about an LSD for my "99" GSR. Are they extremely difficult to install? How much for a quaife unit?

get an LSD. it is the best bang for the buck you can get. u already hace lots of power, now put it to good use. a performance car without an LSD is just not a performance car.

LSD's are a PITA. you need to support the motor in the engine bay while the tranny is out. i would just have a reputable shop do it (like a good transmission shop). they are worth every penny. yes, they make them for almost allll cars. list is around $1300 or so, but endyn may give you a slightly better price, and you can also speak to ralph at autotech (the quaife america distributor). he is great!

Work on your suspension with a good set of coilovers or just struts. They will make a huge difference and not kill your refund check.
