WOW!!! larry really knows his stuff! i got to meet him and talk to him in person this weekend. endyn had a booth set up at the import spring nationals at englishtown newjersey. he was a very nice guy and would talk to you or answer questions all day if you wanted. he had the jrsc that he modified along with one that was unmodified there. you could pick them up and look at them all you want. they were disasembled to see the mods better. i asked him a million questions about porting them and how to go about doing it. i finally understand what he means about the timing on the jrsc. even though he explained it all i now know i could never match the quality he does!!! i am going to send him the blower to get it retimed and ported but the s-tube and manifold i feel confident doing myself. from what he says the jrsc isn't a very well made supercharger or at least not for making large amounts of power. to get it to make any power w/o porting it requires water injection(WHICH HE IS HIGHLY AGAINST)or nitrous to keep the intake charge cool because of the higher boost you need to run. with his mods you can run 17lbs of boost w/out using anything to cool the intake charge. the jrsc in stock form is made to be bolted on and left alone. it has holes in the blower case to keep the wine of the blower to a minimum but this makes the supercharger less efficiant. this is so you can use the blower on passenger cars w/o making to much noise larry says. his mods fill in the holes. larry does more than remove metal he adds metal to the blower case to make it more efficiant. his mods make it run 40% cooler. at 17lbs of boost the heat is equal to 9lbs. i could talk all day about him and his mods but me explaining them is only as good as his articals. you really need to see them in person.

cool! I would like to meet him as well. It would be great to see his work first hand.
-
So his blower mods actually make the jrsc louder eh?
Damn, between that and considering the 3" kamakazi, I'm thinking one of my future mods will also be earplugs.
(besides the fact I find my car marginally acceptable noise-wise already)
-
Sweet! You have to tell me more about the material removal and the timing.
Does he use Devcon or some other sort of epoxy to fill in the holes and smooth the exit triangle into the square mounting flange or does he actually weld aluminum in?
How exactly are the rotors timed? Center to Center of the lobes or make it so one lobe is opening just as one is closing?
Did he let you take any pictures?
Come on man, spill it!

I was up there for the weekend, and seeing his work in person really shows you how talented he is.. if you get a chance look at the s-tube.. s***! that gets opened up big time..
he is a great guy, willing to help anyone, and the work he does is second to none!
Obtw.. didja check out the work on the b/d series heads?.. thats one helluva steady hand!
I also talked to Brian from Wiesco, super cool guy as well.. come to find out he used to work for my best friend's cousin out of Long Island (Shafferoff Racing).. small world!

i checked out his jrsc as well as the weisco pistons that he(reworks, has custom made) and the head work he does. did you notice the small bumps on the intake side of the head? they are to make a better air fuel mixture. he is all about efficiancy! he said he will custom port your head wether you are n/a,supercharged,or turbo. he will customize the porting to give you max power. he needs to know your exact setup from the cams you are using to how many lbs of boost. what header or manifold or compression ratio.... he will definately give you the most bang for the buck!! he truly knows his stuff!!!
-
actually my block is at the machine shop getting the 0.20 overbore , then my mechanic is goin to install LARRY`S RW-PISTONS and eagle rods... i cant wait!!!!!

What is that manifold thats ported? The bottom two pictures?
-
I believe that it is the Type R manifold rework that Larry does.

What kind of sleeves are those? They look crazy and would be able to let coolent through. nice pix. Larry and his crew is the bad ass.
-
The sleeves are Golden Eagle and the manifold is an ITR ported to feed a B20 at 9500 rpm. The plenum is increased in volume as are the runners for the larger engine. They are supposed to have some all new normally aspirated manifolds for the big inch engines at the next race.
-
three of my friends have turbo's running 10-16lbs of boost. they all have golden eagle sleeves w/built in block guards. they have had no trouble with them cracking or overheating and the oldest block is over a year old now. very clean work.
-
how much for the golden eagle sleeves? Could any machine shop do the sleeves? Where could I get some?
I know larry is hard to get a hold of so, what other company I can get a hold of these bad boy?
-
Golden Eagle Manufacturing is the place to call. They have a web site under their name. I think they have to do all the work themselves because it takes a CNC operation to mill the block for installation.
-
The sleeves are a product of Golden Eagle, I took a real close look at the work on that cut away, and they are bad ass.. It makes other companies that I have seen as far as re-sleeves go, look like it was done with a set of Cool Tools..
They have the guard around the top that is actually part of the sleeve itself, and where they are inserted its slotted, and are pressed in... they look real strong.

Glenn, did you get any pics of the modified blower ???

Isn't odd that TOO was complaining about the invasion of the jacka$$es on his bulletin board, but now only a couple of weeks later, he's displaying his URL to the public. I find it somewhat ironic. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/tongue.gif

Zip,
wouldn't you advertise if you were the Pro 4 sponsor?
To make a big change in the sport that we are all in, you have to make a name for yourself ..no?
So I think that its a good move, I think he may of had to make a sacrifice of secrecy to make the difference... its going to be nice when we can get head http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif..(whoops).. a head or a block or a set of camshafts etc.. for the price of what the Ford and Chevy guys can get them at..thats where its headed, parts will become cheaper, more accessible and of better quality.. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif

It's rumoured that another aftermarket company now owns the import related portion of endyn and they're requiring the recent exposure as part of the deal.
-
any hints or guesses?
A retail company or a manufacturer type company?
