Long time no type! ** Updated again with sad news.... **

Hey All!!

Well, it's been a while since I posted anything. I've lurked a couple times, but for the most part I've just been swamped and staying away.

And from the looks of things I'm only about to become WAY MORE swamped.

Some of you may know, and for those who don't, my wife and I have been trying to have a second child for the past 4 years with no luck. My wife and I were both on all kinds of fertility drugs (that made my wife crazy and made my punching bag swell up and feel weird), and in May we decided to quit playing around and throw down the king's ransom and do In Vetro Fertilization.

They pulled my wife's eggs on June 30th, shot my swimmers into 'em over that weekend and put 'em back in her July 3rd. About two weeks ago we found out that the procedure was a success, and my wife's pregnant!

The part that has me freaking is just how well everything worked. They implanted 3 fertilized eggs into my wife, and since twins runs in her family (a fact that I wish I'd have known BEFORE agreeing to go through with this) there is a snowball's chance in hell that each of the 3 eggs could split off into 2 I may end up with 3 sets of identical twins....Sectuplets!!

Like I said, it's a snowball's chance, but knowing my dumb luck I'll be taking that snowball straight in the face!

We go for our first ultrasound where they should be able to count the different heartbeats next Tuesday, so I'll be freakin' till then.

Anyway, that's my news, just thought I'd share.

My friend named his kid Ethan Indiana, just because he liked the Harrison Ford movies. Poor kid lives in Michigan, and has the name Indiana...

I think Anthony, Ed, and Andi would make great names. [img]biggrin.gif[/img] (Andi for the girl, obviously)

Girls: Lillian (nicknamed Lilly) & Genevieve

Boys: Hayden (gotta get the Star Wars influence in there somewhere, and Anakin is too obvious) & Willem

Although I'm still going to press her for my alltime favorite combination: Bo, Luke and Daisy

Well when we have another child, I've already told her what I wanted. Conner Logan.

He'd have a regular looking name, and I'd have two hidden comic references in there.. (Logan of course is a little more obvious.. But not many people would get the Con L reference of his name.. As in Con-El.. the whole Superman/Lex Luthor clone (or Superboy as he's known))

Well, the wife went to the doctors again today and got our first picture of the kids and some heart beat info.

According to the doc 2 of the 3 have heartbeats in the 180 bpm range and the third is in the 160 bpm range.

So according to the old wife's tale, the higher heart rates are boys and the lower one's a girl!

Now I just have to get the wife used to the names Anakin, Luke and Leah......or should I go with Han, Chewie and Leah.... [img]wink.gif[/img]

Sad news...... the wife went to the doctors again today and the smaller of the three babies no longer has a heart beat. [img]frown.gif[/img]

The doctor said that this is common with multiple births, the two bigger babies basically hogged all of the "stuff" that they need to make it, and the smaller one...well, doesn't get what it needs.

Right now I'm feeling weird. Sad that one didn't make it, and at the same time relieved, because 2 will be easier then 3 on multiple fronts.

But anyway, no more Bo, Luke and Daisy.... now I'll have to push for Thema and Louise or Dante and Randall!

Sad news even though very common. Worrying about 1 making it to term is hard enough let alone two or three.

If this makes you feel any better Mac, this is very common and until the Ultra Sound technology got to where it is now, most people were never even aware it was going on.

So while the modern medicine is good in that it points out things that would otherwise be missed, it occasionally points out things that we would have been fine with being ignorant of.
