so nov. 5th is the the big day. the boys are heading into the studio and record this album. i have my fingers crossed and hope this time its for real. can't wait for the new album we're going platinum baby!!!!!!!!

No shit, its great for the band aned all, but it sucks ass for the fans. Im going through that shit with AFI now. Used to be you ccould go to a small club, see them and talk afterwards, now their playin huge places, and your lucky to see them.
AFI's message board is clogged up with stupid ass people that dont even listen (as far as they know)to punk. Im a member of their fan club to and even the private member message board is filled to the brim with stupid ass idiots.
i guess that's the reason why i still go to whole in the wall bars and small venues. usually the crowd is pretty chill and just there to hang out and have a couple of beers and have a good time.
i guess the days of social d playing a really small venue is been long gone. i guess to some of us it doesn't matter where they play. we'll be there!!

dude i agree. there is some random fuckers at thier shows. oh and another thing, It seems like the biggest, fattest, smelleist, drunkest guys like to pick me as thier leaning pole everytime i see Sxdx. haha fuck you guys.

My only complaint is the fat rockabetty girls that wear the dresses with the lotop converse shoes. They think their betty page haircut will provide an optical illusion and trick me into thinking I am looking at a pin up girl. Sorry it doesnt work

At least they TRY to look decent...and as a woman myself, I can't stand the ones who are all fat a sloppy, but think that wearing the low ride pants with their bellies hangin' out and little tight spaghetti strap tank tops that you can see the outline of each and every fat roll from front to back will make them look good to others. Please! Don't make us look at that! Be kind enough to wear something baggy, for Pete's sake! Because contrary to their own opinion, it isn't easy on the eyes, and I for one feel like I'm being disrespected being forced to behold a sight so horrible. And I think it makes the rest of us women look bad, show a little class please!

i agree, now is the time for them to come out. at least we know that a couple of the old timers are still playing instead of sitting on the couch watching cable t.v. TSOL and Youth Brigade are still going strong. this album for sure will bring sd bigger and better things.

I'm Very much looking forward to the NEW album also, however I dont think thye go TRL but they might get BIG through KROQ again, which I am VERY much dreading... I wish they could just keep it fans only. But on the other side punk is VERY BIG at this time, if theres a time to get a little money out of the music nows the time....
I just don't get the success hate some people, especially in the punk community have for bands that really break big and get paid. Its one thing if a band goes blatantly commercial or jumps their indie for a major (i'm PRAYING the next Rise Against album won't be crap). But Social D have never made music they knew would get them paid or famous, they've always taken the long road, and if they should go platinum, more power to them, I'll know they did it right and deserve all of it.
I dont believe in that "major record = Sell out theory" I hope sxdx and my other fav. bands become the richest motherfuckers on the planet.Im kust sayin I hate the fukin stupid ass people that it draws to go see a punk show, so they can go crowd surf and try to beat the shit outta each other (yes i to mosh but theres a difference between moshing and jocks tryin to kick the shit outta everyone).

I'm just as excited as the rest of you about the new album, but don't get your hopes up. Yeah it will more than likely be a decent album, Ness always seems to put out good albums. You never know, this one may compare to that of Self-titled, or even worse. Just trying to keep ya from getting all worked up. [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img]
from what we heard for far........i hope this is one of the best records they ever put out. it kinda makes the last four or five years worth while.

First off, I liked the self titled CD, a lot. Some good shit came off that CD so i dont see any reason to dread something like that. But the work that mike ness is putting on this CD i think is azaming. Angels Wings, I wasnt born to follow, footprints, dont take me for granted are all very heart felt and meaningful songs, and those 4 songs right there are enough to make it a good album. I mean how many times do you buy a CD and hate everyone song but one or two. ALL THE TIME. It has never happened with Social D. At worst, the song is decent. So for a person who hasnt bought a CD in over 3 years, and has instead used alternative methods of getting my musical fix (funny enough, I think my last 3 cd buys where for mike ness/social d cds), i will not only buy one CD, im gonna buy 3! One for me PC CD rom, one for my work CD player and one for my car!

I think this record might be being recorded at Ocean Studios in Burbank. Not sure though.

The biggest social impact I noticed from the movie (and maybe it's just me) is how you have to wait at least 2 days to call someone you just met, no matter how much you like them!
