They also have some great obscure stuff.
Kyle Vincent-Wake Me Up (when the world's worth waking up for)
Star Star-Science Fiction Boy
Celebrity Skin-Hello
Upper Crust-Rabble Rouser
In addition, last check, they had some cool videos by Crue, Ratt, Poison, and Enuff Z'nuff in addition to those you listed. Used to have Quireboys, Jellyfish, Southgang, and Manic Street Preachers...alas, no longer. Do still have Marvelous 3 and a bunch of Bif Naked, however.
Of note, is that the videos of the UK and
US versions of Yahoo are dissimilar. There's
a bunch of lovely Saigon Kick and The Scream
stuff, I hadn't seen before, at the US one. -
There's even a Saxon track conspiciously
lurking there for some reason .

I knew about the Scream stuff (sorry for the ommission) Didn't know about the Saigon Kick. Will have to check that out. Saxon, you say? lol
Didn't take into account the different country's yahoos. I did notice a MSP video on the UK side, however.
I LOVE launch....I'm totally addicted. It has TONS of great videos. Hell, I watch the Scream's "Father, Mother, Son" every day....as well as the FP videos (even though I have all of those on tape)
Love it love it love it...have been addicted to it for months
the ultras video is there as well
I just had a nose on the UK one, and there's a bunch of cool stuff that I've not seen for ages.
Damn Yankees and Winger as well, hahaha.
Shame it only plays at about 1 frame per sec on my pc!!! The audio's fine though.
Stacy, for what's it worth, even at ADSL2 speeds
(3000kbps) the quality still isn't up to much.
The frame rate's top-notch, but the compression's
a bit dingy. Then again, it's free, what do I
care? I think Yahoo should probably be applauded
for being so mysteriously inclusive of so many
80s gems: it's not often you here people talk
about visiting a corporate portal and finding
'lots of Winger there'. Seriously! I couldn't
believe it.. it's like waking up in Hard N'Heavy
Vol. Ad Finitium hell or something.
I think it'll be interesting to discover how
much importance marketing depts. invest in this,
because they sure ain't making any money off
singles nowadays.

I agree. I can't believe all that old stuff is on there, but I'm glad it is. I guess there must still be demand for it. One glaring ommission though, is White Lion's "Wait". I love that song, but they left that one off for some reason.
I can't believe White Lion are reforming.
Well I can, because everyone is, but I can't,
considering the acrimonious way in which
they fell apart.
What do we think of Freak of Nature's 'Outcasts'
CD? Worth the release or not?
D.
No, mate, the media is embedded. You wouldn't
want this quality anyway. You can save the
audio simply enough, and, there are complicated
way around capturing the video, too, but you
would probably need access to a DV editing
suite.

Carl, actually it's quite easy to record streaming video from the internet.
1. WM Recorder (works like a charm at Launch)
WM Recorder works by watching internet activity relating to Window Media Player, and assembling the streamed data as an ASF file, which can then be played using Windows Media Player on your PC
Open WM Recorder, go to your video streaming site, click "Rcord", and play the video. WM Recorder will save it as an asf file on your hard disk.
2. CamStudio
CamStudio lets you set an area of your screen that you'd like to capture. Anything inside this area is then recorded to a movie file on your hard drive.
note:
If you are unable to capture streaming video with a screen grabber program. This is because the video was being displayed as an overlay by the video hardware and not actually being drawn to the screen. To disable the overlay, go to Display Properties > Settings > Advanced > Troubleshooting. Move hardware acceleration from full to none. This will force RealPlayer (and most other players) to actually draw the video to the screen and allow you to capture it with any screen grabber.
3. HiDownload(HD)
use HiDownload to record streaming Real Networks Media. This software also works for Windows Media such as .asf, .wmv, .wma, .asx, so on and so forth.
blah, blah, blah......
There's no way of saving these videos onto my hard drive, is there? I haven't checked them out yet, but they are only streaming videos, right?
