AH, have you not heard Bellevue? I prefer them to his solo stuff (like I've said, I don't buy him as a balladeer) Not as good as D Gen, but Bellevue is still great.

Whoops, meant Bellvue.
everything d gen has done has been great. i love sweet talker off of the prohibition ep. jesse is a cool guy too, down to earth.
I totally think No Lunch is one of the best albums of all time. I'm a BIG BIG BIG dgen fan...
If you dig 'em too, raise your hand. *raises hand* Am currently cranking Through the Darkness. Awesome!!!
Jesse Malin kicks ass. I think their best song is Helpless off Through the Darkness. Rise and Fall is great as well. I also dig that hidden slow song. As far as "No Lunch" I like Capital Offender, Frankie, Major. I mean they are all great tracks. Their first disc rocks to. I really dig that Jesse solo disc to although it's quite different than D.
'she's standing with a record in her hand
she's really cool or just another fan
i know looks are deceiving
but i'm caught be her eyes
i make myself start believing
theres something special inside'
i love that song so much. now i have to go pull out that disc.
That's an awesome song, Bill.
I love No Lunch too, Mandi. The only thing I don't really like off there is Scorch. The rest is great. I still prefer Into the Darkness, though.
Dammit, did I just say Into the Darkness? I meant Through the Darkness. DAMMIT!!! lol
Raises both hands. This monkey totally digs D-Gen!!First album is the best!Jesse's solo stuff ballads bit too depressing for my liking,I want my rawk to make me happy!! :-)
I like 'em, but in smaller doses. They always fell short of greatness, IMO. I thought "Through The Darkness" was mediocre, and sounded too Smashing Pumpkins like vocally at times. But since they flirted with greatness so much, it made listening to them more frustrating than enjoyable, odd as it may seem. They were a band that if they would just kick it out and tear it up, they would have ruled the world, but they chose to be "arty" and such more than they really should have been.
But yeah, I would go along with the "I dig 'em" crowd.
i know it's cliche but i have seen D Gen dozens of times and every time they kicked it out and tore it up. i think No Lunch is there best cd. i think if they had a better producer for their self titled it would be right up there. For me D Gen hit their peak with No Lunch. To me at least, there is not a bad song on it. That cd brings back alot of great memories along with some not so great memories.
If you guys have a chance come check out my band at www.revagony.com we have a Post Board forum but it has turned into a degenerate place to talk of filth.... which in itself isn't all bad just not much of a point to it...
