The bio on their website is a bummer as I don't know how much is BS, such as the vocalist being a mute for part of his life, but it would explain some of the brain damage he displays in the "I Live For Speed" video...)

Weird, for some odd reason last night I chose to get myself the Love And Rockets tune "Ball Of Confusion"!
I also grabbed Tones On Tail "GO!", Time Zone's "World Destruction" (Time Zone was a side project by Afrikka Bambatta and John Lydon, killer song), and the Shriekback album "Oil And Gold".
So it looks like I can join the Ash and Marcus gang for a few days!!!

Oil And Gold fucking rules!!! The rest of Shriekback sucks, but that one album is incredible. "Nemesis" is a brilliant song, but it's "Only Thing That Shines" that really gets me! Haunting and beautiful! Goth done brilliantly with that song.

I'm currently listening to Tommy Lee's never a dull moment on repeat in my car.. the album is totally good and toally underrated.
Also listening to PiL Album (or CD.. whatever) and Warrior Soul Salutations from the ghetto nation.
but at work it's some dance shit.. not my choice.

Wearing a huge smile as I recall what a great year it was. 13/14, very young, not a care in the world. Wondering how a mere ?20 seemed to last forever, fingers first touching a guitar and growing my hair longer than ever. How life seemed so much easier! haha

1984 was a ton of fun! I was 14, and the king of my school, even though I was a freak. I found Hanoi Rocks that year, and many other bands also.
1986 was a great time also. So was 1989-1990.

Late '88 was pretty cool for me. First gig, started going down the pub regular. Met most of my mates that are still about. Things all got a bit blurry after that.
I do remember late '91/early '92 being particularly good for shows in London for hair band fans. There was a short-lived promotion called 'American Dream', set up by Shades Records, that brought US bands over to the Astoria. Bands like Tuff, Danger Danger, XYZ. Also around the same time, Slaughter were touring with Cinderella, Winger toured with the Scorpions, Firehouse with Status Quo!!! Even Steelheart and Lillian Axe showed up in town.

spinning mixed compilation tapes. Glory days. Funny you should mention this Gav as earlier this evening I tapped into a funny memory. vividly recall one night getting completely stoned with my best friend(was about 15) and sitting on my bed listening to the "Cars" self titled first album,..her playing air guitar,me playing air drums,laughing so hysterically I fell off the bed. It was a good memory. Simpler times,life without a care(well,somewhat anyway) made me chuckle thinking about it.

I must admit, 85-93 were all great years for various reasons. But then again there were many other cool ones since.
But still believe are yet to come.
