It's the first movie directed by Spielberg. Has Dennis Weaver, as a driver, being chased/harrassed by an unseen guy in a semi.
I almost didnt read this post because I am not per se a big horror fan,but I did see this movie a couple times Lycan and it's really good. I think it's a late 70's movie or maybe earlier but it was good. Reminds me of another movie on the same vein called "The Hitcher" with Rutger Hauer. Anyone seen this one? It's pretty good too.
Donna, it was 1971. Originally released as a TV movie but re-released for the big screen in 1983. [img]wink.gif[/img] It has definitely tweaked my interest. Dammit, neither Hollywood nor Blockbuster had it. [img]frown.gif[/img]
The Hitcher was awesome!That what this movie made me think of as well.

DUEL is a great friggin' film!!! Think sorta JAWS, but with a semi instead. Great movie, check it out, I garauntee you'll dig it!
That movie kicks ass the truck driver is the devil i swear to god.
Duel is excellent and was directed by a very young Steven Spielberg.
The Hitcher is another winner. Great flick which went largely unnoticed.
I have no idea where to find those movies. I was trying to find an Eddie Murphy stand up video "Raw" a couple weeks back. I know blockbuster had it a couple years ago,but neither they or Hollywood video has it anymore. I am going to try to find it on the net. I'd say look on e-bay. Hell, you can get birdshit on there I bet.
Blockbuster tends to alot much of their space to recent movies. In San Francisco we have a rental store called, "Le Video" which carries tons of older flims. Try checking around to find out if your area also has a store that specializes in older flicks. Unfortunatly if all you have is Blockbuster the selection for such films is limited. Although I would assume both "Duel and the Hitcher" could be found at most Blockusters.
In the past few years Blockbuster has been clearing out old stock. They sell some of the stuff, such as hit movies, but the older films (even Universal classic monster stuff) has been the cause of much controversy. Instead of giving the public at hand the chance to grab up a bunch of films that have yet to see light of day on DVD, Blockbuster has opted to just toss them all into a huge garbage dump.
There was a release to DVD for DUEL a few years ago, and by it being a Spielberg film, you might be able to find it. But if you can't find it, you might wish to check the bottom of your local trash dump.
Carl,I checked the dump and all I found was a disc titled" The rise and fall of the roxx gang",which I quickly pulled out and rescued. I'm going to send it to Ashleigh to see if he thinks it sucks. If he say's it doesn't suck,I'll send it to lycan to re [img]wink.gif[/img]
