Well the tires on my 15" 98 GS wheels are about to die on me. So what are "The Best" tires for the money I could get for them? Traction and Threadwear are a priority

Go for the Kuhmo Ecsta Supra's. . . for the money. . .can't be beat. Traction A, Temp A, Treadwear is about 300, I think.

I've said it at least 300,000 times and nobody listens to me, but I'm absolutely in love with the Dunlop SP Sport 5000; it's not too expensive, grips absolutely great in wet or dry conditions, and has lasted longer than most H-rated tires I've owned, which is pretty great for a Z-rated tire. Maybe people don't like them because they aren't very exciting looking and aren't from a Japanese manufacturer, but they work great for me.

well, I've only used three sets on my car, stock, nitto 450's and AVS intermediate
Of course the AVS are the best gripping but I'm still not entirely use to the fact that they never squeal.
Though the only thing I haven't tried is parking brake and multi second burn-out.

I've seen and heard the Kumho Ecsta's in action on a 94 GSR (DSP) and they squeel a lot and were not turning in fast times compared to the driver's skill. Autocrossing, of course. 300 treadwear is pretty high.
You don't have to go as low as 160, but I think there are tires out there in between. Like 240.

I run Dunlop SP8000's on my car and love them!!...great grip in the corners and they dont squeal at all...and the price is really good to

I dunno about others, but I have the Kumho Ecsta 712s and I am very pleased with them. I live in the Houston region, too and the downpours get pretty severe. While I am getting a bit thin on tread, I pushed them pretty hard this past Sunday through some deeper puddles (should have known better :O) and they held the line great.
I am willing to give up some dry traction for better wet traction, especially since I'll put the Victoracers on for the track http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif.

Ill give my vote for the Dunlop sp8000's.
I love these tires.. they last and last and last beating after beating they hold up and keep on sticking. Price is right.
The only thing that I have found that really pissed me off was getting a bad set of the tires from carparts.com (fackers) the set I got have bubbles in the sidewalls because of some flaw in the bead I suppose...and they wouldnt replace them, when they finally did the one they sent me had a bubble too!.. besides that they are a great tire.

My Toyo's have been good to me... I have the FZ-4's (the cheaper version of the T1S's). Excellent stick when they are warm, terrible in snow, and a bit slippery in the rain... well, if you have a big rear swaybar anything is slippery http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif

I''d buy another set (about $25 cheaper per tire than the T1S's.

I'm listening and I agree: I also have a set. They have enough grip that I feel like I have more tire than chassis. Plus they work in the snow, too (hey, around here that matters).

Hell yeah they work in the snow! I took my car up snowboarding and with the SP5000s and the type-R LSD I was doing pretty damn good even on ice! I'm glad someone else shares my opinion on the 5000s; ever since I mounted them even with the 22mm rear sway I can't get the car to break loose on dry pavement.

Yup if the insides are going bald you most likely need a camber kit....just look straight at the front of your car you should be able to see how far the wheels are cambered in at the top...if there not leaning in then you need an alignment

I'm running on the RE-730 right now..They're decent tire for the price I paid. I have a set of Dunlop SP9000 waiting for me.
Funny thing is that I have more inner tire wears with my GSR and stock ITR suspension (about 0.75" drop?). But these tires had at least 60K miles on them already...I think it's just normal that the inner edge will wear out faster than the outer edge.

Who did your springs??? if you did the you can do the camber kit...Ingalls Engineering has a really nice kit and its not to hard to install...then just bring it to an alignment place and let them do the adjustments

If you EVER have to drive in the snow or anything that even resembles it...DO NOT buy the Falkin GRB. I took my integra up to West Virginia to go snowboarding and I almost did not make it up there! If there was any incline at all in the road they would not grip. Horrible, horrible in the snow. They grip alright on DRY pavement tho.

I had Dunlop SP8000's once. . . those were GREAT tires, but only for dry. I think I paid a pretty penny for them too.
In the wet though, I've found that they're downright dangerous! During a rainstorm, I was driving 60 mph, and my car changed lanes without me having to move the steering wheel. Now that's hydroplaning!!

Good year EAGLE F-1 all the way! I don?t understand why nobody knows this tire or even give it a prop. I?m able to drive with this sticker on the wet like on the dry road, no shit! When I take a cormer with 150kph on dry street I do it with 135-140 on wet street! Go fore it you won?t regret it. Shot me when this tire is bad for you!
Most friends of mine have this rubber (I have convinced them) and they say they will never switch to any other brand!
