Just giving you a follow up on this. The guy used an M90 and has been running 14 psi. He's now rebuilding the engine cuz he's to afraid that his stock engine can't handle this power. Hopefully he'll get on a dyno next summer.

Wow, that guy is ambitious! He's using the same blower that Jaguar (Ford) uses for its SC'ed engines.
-
Doesn't our "JR series" Eaton blowers have different gearing in the "nose" for the opposite rotation of Honda engines? I wonder how he got that to work with an M90?

I was wondering where the throttle body is sitting? I don't seem to see it between the Air Intake and the Supercharger. I thought it would have to be somewhere BEFORE the supercharger and not after?
Just wondering. Maybe I am blind [heh]

It's after the SC. JRSC Miatas are like this too.

That is *really* cool!
I like the fact that the blower casing is surrounded by steaming hot exhaust manifold pipes! I'm sure that thing will look great after a few weeks!
Hes got a BOV though; Who wouldn't want one of those?
-
Yeah, the TB is after the SC, that's why he has to have a BOV, but he also re-route the air back into the SC, just in case. You can see it in the first pic, the tube is disconnected right after the air filter.
The SC doesn't seems to be much affected by the heat, he of course painted it with high temp paint but if I were him, I would defenitely wrap the header. It's a B18C1 and it's supposely running quite strong but I haven't had a chance to get a ride yet. And did I mention it was also intercooled ?

So can someone tell me the pros and cons of putting the throttle body before or after the supercharger? I thought it would be harder on the supercharger if the throttle body was placed AFTER becuase the supercharger would be pushing air reisitivly towards a possibly partial open throttle body? But I guess it has to work just as hard when trying to suck air through a partially opened tb?
Thanks for the info. I am really curious becuase to get my SC in my Prelude they will probably have to mount it OVER the heat exhaust manifold shield (not as hot as this config [heh]) but the throttle body cables won't reach around to the front of the car to mount the tb before the SC so if I could get away with putting the throttle body after the SC like this configuration without any major drawbacks I might suggest that too Rick.
Thanks for any and all info.

This SC is setup just like a turbo, thus you need turbo "type" accessories. I'm not sure how SC's react to sudden "compressor surges" (i.e. compressor of a turbo) when the TB is closed between shifts. It seems he has a blowvalve and bypass valve to reroute the boost during shifts. He also must use a check valve to prevent the MAP from sensing boost.

What size motor does this guy have ???
I give credit where credit is due... this guy has got some guts. He has taken on a monster project... and somehow it works.
Congratulations.

with all that trouble, why not get a turbo or a centrifugal supercharge? it would make more sense to get a centrifugal supercharger, save lots of room, make more power, less heat from exhaust and block (see the supercharge is wrapped around with the exhaust manifold and the block. but then again, it looks cool very cool.

Some people are more rewarded by originality than by mere power alone! If I had the skills I would much prefer my own setup to a JRSC.
