OMG, this beast is a beauty! I got the type R header with 2.5" piping, 2.5" collector, and a sphere. I asked for a ceramic, however it appears to be SS. Oh well, at least I didn't pay for the SS! http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif Anyways, here are the pictures! Tell me what you think...

Wow, looks nice but what's that tongue looking thing on the collector? When are you going back to test this header at dynospot?
-
The thing sticking out of the collector is called a sphere. The Kamakaze engineers told me that it will help reduce turbulance in the header, allowing more flow. Kinda of a odd piece huh! http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif
BTW-I'm going back to dynospot later this month. My cars been gone for the past 2weeks getting some stuff done. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif I hope to get it back Fri, or Sat. Or maybe next week sometime. I still have to order the BTC. So hopfully I will get it all done ASAP. Not to mention I still have to figure out a way to get this monster header on my car! http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif

Wow..That's a nice piece!!! Looks much much mucchhhh better than my DC (da crap) Sports header.
-
Its cool, I was about to get a DC or Comptech header, however after seeing the price, and performance gain, I had to get it. Now I just have to pray I can gain whp with it by keeping my small ass exhaust. If I get no whp gain, I will go to Thermal 3"! http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif (Maybe)

That isn't stainless, it's thermal coated and then polished.

Mine didn't have that sphere thing. Bummer.

"kamikaze engineers"
heh. only the finest out here in corona.

Yeah, I had no idea about the sphere thing. When I called Kamakaze to order the header, they gave me a list of options I want. I just asked for the best header I can get for my car. So they told me to get that header with the sphere. I'm kinda worried about adapting it to my current exhaust setup. I currently have a high flow cat (which I replacing with a test pipe), and a Top Fuel exhaust system. I will probally get a test pipe with a 2.5" inlet, and a 2.25" outlet.

I saw a gain of nearly 5 all the way across the band with the installation of the kami header. I hope you see something similar. My exhaust is 2.5 by the way with stock cat.
-
Nice.
i'd clean up those chamber welds with a long dremel attachment and it appears the sphere was bent.

How are you going to run a test pipe with out getting Codes, and going into limp mode??/
-
Well I found out, you dont really go into limp mode. Only the check engine lights up. But I do know of a way to bypass the sensor tripping out. You have to wire in a resistor to the secondary O2 sensor. I'm also gonna try some electrical work on the computer to override some stuff. Who knows, maybe after all the work on the comptuer, I'll have my own programmable comptuer. (Watch out Zip http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif

well let me know, I have my exhaust and test pipe, but am afraid to install it, because of CE lights and such......... let me know if splicing in a resistor to the secondary o2 works.. If so, i would like to know how to do this and what kind of resistor you used.
BTW Love your header, wish mine would get here soon, been waiting 3 weeks already, although i didn't order a spear, they didn't even try to sell me one
