I fucking HATE VIRUSES!!!!!!!!!!!!......

As you know... it's been a long and tiring two weeks for me (re)building a new network, all the users, rights, trust, domain, dns, gateway, and such after the big meltdown.

I was just getting to a point where things were beginning to stabilize and a bunch of viruses bring the entire fucking network to it's KNEES... [img]mad.gif[/img]

Seems that some people don't think that the UPDATES are that important... so they cancel them when they start...

... and with the rebuild there were a few unprotected machines that started SLAMMING MY INTERNET GATEWAY.

Days like today, I wish my building was taller... so when I throw myself off the roof, it would do more than break bones. [img]frown.gif[/img]

And that folks, is why I am now in QA and not system/network support.

I have the job of fucking things up - not trying to keep them fucking working! [img]smile.gif[/img]

I would say "Atleast it is Friday!", but then again, people like you that get the big bucks have a pager and probably a 24/7, 2 hour response SLA to live by!

I've said this before Steve.... I don't hate macs.

They just don't make quad processor Mac Servers with hot-swappable 146 Gig drives and 2 Gig of Memory.

Macs are fine for Photoshop, Music Editing, and personal use... they just don't have a good place in the business world when you're providing remote access, database, and file storage for hundreds of people located all over the US.

I'm already working out a schedule so that certain nights they'll get patches, certain nights their personal folders will be backed up... so when they say shit like "I dunno... I just saved it in My Documents... that's not on the server???" I can say... "I got your fucking file right HERE you stupid bastard!" [img]wink.gif[/img]

yer gonna think i'm odd (no really! [img]wink.gif[/img] ) but i love when i good virus gets loose inside the network. At least i get something interesting to do for a while...
