HI Belle. This is Mum's daughter, Cherrie. Just wanted to let you know that she is in the hospital. Had surgery yesterday on her eyeball. Her retina was starting to detach from her eye. She will be out of commission for a good while. She is not allowed to read, watch tv or use the computer until her eye has regained strength and until they know that the surgery took. She asked me to post to let you know that she is fine and won't be around for a while. Yesterday I left her in Winston-Salem in my sister's charge. And since she (my sister) does not do computers too well, would you mind too terribly not sending an overwhelming amount of emails since she has that pussy-of-a-computer that breaks down if you just look at it wrong? I don't even know if you guys do email outside of the board, but just in case, I though I would ask. She will be on bedrest for a long time and is not allowed to strain her eye...hopefully she won't have to sneeze.(hehehehe). Anyway, I know she frequents your board a lot and will miss being away for a while, but she will be back in all her force as soon as the doctor says she can. __________________________________

Spoke to mum lastnight. She sounds good, a little buzzed from the meds, but good. The doctor told her she does not have to be on her stomach for a week which is good news. Also, she may be back on her pc sooner than was at first predicted. It still may be a couple of weeks but maybe she will surprise us all. I sent your well-wishes from your board to mum. She says to tell everyone hello. I will try and post as she recovers.

I see mom has been posting...I leave for North Carolina this weekend to check in on her. She has been busted by my uncle cleaning sinks and things. I get to spend the weekend weed whacking her back yard, which is really a steep enbankment that sits at about a 50 degree angle. It is treacherous. Seriously, my stepdad once went rolling down it because he forgot to bend his knees while walking up. He ended up all the way down in the cow field. Cracked some ribs and got pneumonia. I don't mind it much but she makes me wear this dorky helmet with fly netting and some safety strap with a sign of some sort attached to the back. Rather emabarrasing really. If I fell I would go with the entire weed whacker and all, being that it is strapped on. Ahhhhhhh...dontcha just love working out of doors? **sign**

I really need to do my lawn and gardens..Ive been in my house now for 10 months and the garden has only been weeded once and then I had my mother come over and help me..Oh and she's on holidays right now for a month..hmmm...how convenient...lol..
A mountain goat eh? THat is me. I do love yard work. I have been doing a lot of it lately considering I can't find a stinking job anywhere. I must say, it has been nice being out here on the farm, but my MIL (mother-in-law)lives right next door. We live in the guest cottage on their farm. It is the only downer about this entire deal. She can be a bit overwhelming to say the least. She's a Norwegian, and though they are very intelligent, they are also very opinionated, which gets a little annoying at times.
Talked to mother and she informed me I don't have to do the lawn. Apparently they have hired someone to do it for them.
Thats what you get for leaving your charming wonderful mother and going to Virginia to live next to HER!!!!*pouting*

Mine tried being the dominate woman in the relationship I have with my husband but she soon learnt that I run/rule my household and not her.
We now get on fairly well but we sometimes still lock horns even after 13 years..lol and I happily live 10 hours drive away from my MIL.. [img]smile.gif[/img]
I wanna go trounce her...but nooo Pez won't let me, not that I am a violent person..I am after all a senior citizen "GREY POWER"..AARRRGGUUUUAH!!

Leanart did (thats the FIL, a very nice man). He asked twice. Probably once for himself and a second time to make up for the Bitch of the East.
I don't know how you do it Belle. I absolutely cannot even stand to be in the same room with her anymore. She never has a positive thing to say. Here is an example of how she thinks:
My eight-year-old had a friend spend the night a couple of weekends ago and when Chloe (my daughter) introduced her friend to the MIL, you know what she told me?? She said that the only reason why my daughter is friends with Virginia is because she is no competition because her friend is over weight. So basically, in her demented mind, she thinks my daughter chose her friends on the basis of whether or not they are competition for her. She is EIGHT!!!! What does that say about how my MIL thinks about her own grandchild.
She also handed back a necklace that Chloe made her and told her she didn't want a piece of string decorated with paperclips and colored paper. That it wasn't really a necklace but junk. Poor Chloe was crushed and came home crying. Needless to say I wore the thing for the next week until it fell apart. .....Miserable old hag!
