Sega Dreamcast recommendations?

Dude finally brought in that system he's been teasing me with for the last 2 years. I don't even know if it works yet, but I'm itching for some new games. All else fails I might look into some different stuff for PS1, even though I haven't had time to beat all the games I got in the last deal. The only two tiles he had for the DC are 4 Wheel Thunder and NFL 2K1, and since I've already got a ton of racing games I may trade that one in. Assuming EB still carries this vintage, what do yinz recommend I look for? I likes me RPG's, action/adv, tactics/strategy, and Doom-ish clones but none of those faux 3-d rail riding shootemups like Res Evil. I hate static cameras in games that claim to be immersive, either give me fully rendered or stick with 8-bit.

I don't have a dreamcast, but I used to rent one from time to time. I really liked Shenmue, it's an rpg. Crazy taxi was fun more of a rent game than anything else, besides that I don't remember any other tittle that "marked" me.

I have a Dreamcast that i still play. I don't have many games but i have 3 emulators that play NES games and SNES, it has every Nintendo game (well almost) on the CD. Other games that i have that are good are Soul Calibur, MDK, MK Gold, F355 Racing Challenge ( exotic racing cars)F1, Racing, HydroThunder is really good as well.

And if you'd like, i can send/burn you a copy of the Nintendo emulator cd [img]wink.gif[/img]

You can find a ton of Dreamcast games with programs like WinMX. There are also emulators that let you play NES, Genesis, etc. on the Dreamcast (hell, someone was even working on a DivX player for DC).

Of course, if you don't want to steal you can probably find used games for next to nothing, I just haven't checked out prices recently (DC has been in storage for a long time).

Some good games (I mainly played the sports and online games):

Shenmue
NFL2k series (original 2k has shown up at dollar stores along with NBA2k)
NHL2k (haven't played 2k2 yet, but I'd like to find it)
Tennis 2k2
Seaman was interesting
Also played the hell out of Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament (didn't have a good PC at the time) - probably not worth buying now.
Alien Front Online allowed you to talk over the Internet (another one not worth purchasing now, but was pretty cool at the time).

Avoid like the plague:

World Series Baseball 2k2
Evil Dead Hail to the King
Daytona USA was also a huge letdown.

Mostly I'll be scanning for DC games in the used bin at EB or some other discount outlets that are around, possibly hit some garage sales. I learned years ago to not buy systems or games brand new, especially since all platforms have finally gone to disk instead of carts. But man do I miss carts.

Shenmue and Crazy Taxi were both good games. I would add these games to the list:

Soul Calibur
House of the Dead 2 (gun game)
Jet Grind Radio
MDK2 (my personal favorite on Dreamcast)
Metropolis Stree Racer
Resident Evil Code: Veronica
Virtua Tennis

I know there's a lot more than that but that's all I can think of at the moment.

Other then that, i don't want anything else, i'll try to fit as many cd's as possible in the envelope.
