On the edge may be Princess Mononoke. Very good story, but might be a little scary for the real younger kids (under 10)

Can't remember the US-title, but "The Fearsome Bioreconstructed Man" was pretty darned fun, crazy enough for adults AND children to enjoy. No naughty drawings or language (though "spiderman" spins his web outa the orifice you'd expect, it's comedic, and yes, kid-friendly).

FINALLY found it. The US title would just never come to mind! The Ultimate Teacher, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0250793/ can't remember if I saw it at Blockbuster or Hollywood Video, awhile after getting it under a different 'aka'. Kid friendly, but adults might find it weird enough to enjoy also (minus the hyperkinetic sugar-high Pokemon craze).
