This street jazz band were playing in La Rambla and the were simply amazing. They were very talented indeed and we stayed and watched them for ages. They rounded off a perfect afternoon. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Casa Batllo (pronounced Batyo). The most beautiful building in Barcelona, imo. A truly awe inspiring experience.

The inner tiled courtyard of Casa Batllo. Gaudi used the natural incoming sunlight to produce an almost aquatic effect, with the tiles changing from deep blue at the top to almost white at the lower levels.

Parc Guell (pronounced Park Gwey). This was the underneath of the serpentine terrace. The whole structure was supported by elegant columns and the ceiling was decorated with a fusion of colours and styles, this being one of them. This particular 'rosette' is accredited to the artist Jujol, who worked alongside Gaudi in the development of this park.

View from the serpentine terrace @ Parc Guell. The foreground is the actual backrest(s) of the continuous terraced seating, decorated by Gaudi using broken tiles to create this mosaic effect. The building in the background in 1 of 2 park gatehouses, also designed by Gaudi.
