WANTED: Greddy Black box

ANyone know of someone that is selling one of these or similar device? my check valves go out too quickly and i'm sick it replacing them haha.. let me know!

although this does sound like a good idea, many people have told me that it can only handle 7 psi. even if you fix that, the stock MAP sensor is good up to 10 psi. that's at the limit where you can easily break the internal diaphram.

anyone has seen this? http://www.efisystems.com/check.htm

I'm using a GReddy Black Box and check valves together in my setup. Works like a top. I would recommend against using the "green" wire from the black box tho. It is supposed to run the mixture a little richer under boost by modifying the intake air temp. and coolant temp. sensor signals. I can't get it to work right. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/frown.gif

No prob. dude. I'll give him a visit today. I'm pretty sure he has a few lying around.

I use 2 check valves in my setup and NEVER once had the CEL come on. I even removed the check valves at one point and just used the black box. No CEL. I think what cq meant was that if you push more than 7psi or so into the stock MAP sensor the internal diaphram in the sensor will rip. I have heard this too, so I used both. Works perfectly and even with only 2 check valves.

That would be awesome.. so you think the stock MAP will only hold 7 psi? Can anyone confirm this?
I guess using the black box with check valves would work pretty good..
My check engine light kept coming on and sending the car into limp mode, which sucked @ss by the way.. (and scarey the first time it every happened haha)
I was only running 3 check valves on 6psi.. now i'm running 5, problem solved, but don't really wanna have it happen any more.. check valves get expensive after a while haha..
So the Black Box will resolve the MAP sensor problem 100%?

Ya, let me know if you can find a box for me, that would be awesome... I heard that even with check valves (no box) if the MAP sensor sees ANY boost whatever (like .2psi even or whatever) that your car won't be running at 100%, is that true? so with the black box the MAP sensor doesn't see ANY boost so technically it should be running at 100% pential right?

hey markc how much for the black box? oh and im guessing this didnt come with the drag3 right. how come you have to use it. arent u only running 7psi, and isnt the kit supposed to come with everything u pretty much need for 7psi...thanks..

What's with the EFI systems check valve? Does anyone have more info on them? Their site doesn't say crap about them.

Alright G3-TEG. I talked to the guy (He owns a shop) and he has one. He wants $55 for it. That sounds a little high to me, but I paid $1400 for mine! (LOL. Had to buy the whole turbo kit around it. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif)

Seneka: You don't have to use the black box. I just chose to because I had it lying around. Why not, right? It's just a way to electrically fool the MAP sensor into thinking there's no boost. The DRAG kit comes with check valves to accomplish this, which worked fine for me. I just chose to install the black box n addition to the check valves. If you want one I can look for another one, but I don't know where I would find it.

Yo Inboost. Did you ever get around to installing that black box you had? It works great on mine. Forget about hooking up the 'green' wire tho. Not necessary for the DRAG kits. (Hear that G3?)

Big thanks for your help and info.. green wire? don't use it? run it by me one more time why not? If the greddy kit suggests using it, wouldn't it be benificial to run it with other kits as well? (although mine is custom, same thing right? hah)

Let me know if your friend wants to sell me the black box.. $55 is a little high, i've seen them for like $25-$35 on the parts trader
let me know though.. there's seems to be a sudden shortage and no one is selling them haha.. sucks
