I had to venture out to the bank today, and as I hadn't been to TRU in months, I figured I'd go and see if they had anything worth looking at.

they were pretty bare as usual, with not much to see at all (although I did see an unleashed chewbacca that, if I collected that line, I would've bought cause it looked cool).

however, I did spot this hanging on the pegs:

at last, I have my hands on the toybiz morgul lord witch-king ring wraith. I've been looking for this figure since CM sent me the king of the dead, which was an indication that that wave of figs was in stores.

He's a really kick ass figure..probably my favorite so far out of all the LOTR figs that toybiz has released. I also saw the new faramir figure, which looked pretty good as well, but I limited myself to the morgul lord today.

it seems toybiz is finally firming up their weapons, cause his sword and his huge mace are both made of sturdy plastic (as is the king of the dead's sword). It's not all bendy like a lot of the other LOTR weapons are, so I doubt his sword will look like it needs viagra in a month or two. The spikes on his helmet are soft and rubbery, but that's probably for the best..they won't snap off if he takes a dive from the shelf.

His paint job is excellent, his helmet looks great, and his robes are also really well done when it comes to paint and detail.

He's the best of the ringwraiths. I love that helmet!

Ah if I'd known I woulda grabbed a couple back when I got the two King of the Dead figures...my mistake in foolishly waiting on buying them, since the Nazguls sold out fast. (Walmart will have them back though, they're reliable with LOTR stuff.)

He is the best ringwraith they've done so far. I think he actually makes the regular wraith look puny and poorly done...if I were looking to pose this witch king with other wraiths, I'd just buy some of the original witch king figures from the FOTR line. especially as that figure can be found easily now as they re-released it.

Hell yeah, the King of the Dead figure rocks. I love LOTR, but am not a big collector of the line. I pick up ones here and there that I really dig, Ringwraiths and the like. But yeah, the King of the Dead is probably my favorite so far.

He's the only glow in the dark fig I've ever had, as I'm generally not a big fan of GITD figures.

yeah he's definately my fav LOTR figure, thelittle "flaps" that coem down from where the hood is under the helmet bugs me though, they're kinda misshapen on mine... [img]confused.gif[/img]

yeah..I was thinking about going back this week and getting him if he's still there.

oh yeah..I'll be taking that halloween spawn to the post office tomorrow or later this afternoon to get the shipping price on it for you. sorry it's taken me so long..I haven't had the chance to get out till this week.

Yep Faramir was pretty cool looking...I never cared for the first version but many a time I kept indecisively picking up and putting down the new armored version.

I believe he's in the Coronation set, so there's a chance to get him then. With yet another Aragorn as King figure at that. I swear out of all Rings figures these days he's been abundantly warming the shelves the most. If I had it my way, the Gates Of Mordor pack would be just The Mouth of Sauron and a bunch of Mordor Orcs (and maybe an Easterling with a sword and war banner this time).

That's one of the reasons why I like the AOME line so much. There's a lot of variety, and the packs that they release have all contained a good selection of figures. I have a tiny army of orcs and uruk-hai and easterlings, but I'd like to have some big versions of those figures as well.

Oh yeah, they love reselling the same heroes...and they gotta realize that most of us already buy them as singles. Though I can understand reissuing some heroes in the Helm's Deep set, since that's only staying true to the film sequence. If they ever sell Haldir seperately, I'm not sure if that'd be a blessing or a curse since some have already bought the set for him.

As far as more Orcs and such...we saw a protoype for a Mordor Orc and a fat Orc Brute, they could've easily issued those in the Mordor Gates pack. And easterlings, all that's needed there is a couple new accessories for them, that's all. Elves, same deal, reuse some of the older ones including Haldir- maybe some new head sculpts too for variety's sake.

Actually given the amount of sets they pull out, I'm suprised they haven't made a Rivendale pack with Elrond, Galadriel, Arwen, etc. The Elves always upstage the orcs though, and we haven't had enough non-Uruk-hai orc figures.

Speaking of packs, I had no clue that they made this Treebeard/Gandalf one, which'd be cool as a MOC collectable:

huh..I never saw or heard of that gandalf/treebeard pack, or the aragorn/legolas pack. I'd get the Gandalf one if I didn't already have the mini treebeard.

that reminds me..I'd also like to see some other Ents. Just one or two more. I doubt that will happen though. I just think it'd look cool to pose treebeard with two more Ents. I'd be happy with small ones, as I never did get the giant treebeard.

It is surprising that they never did a pack like that with the elves. I'd buy one like that just so I could get an Elrond. I think Elrond is amongst the figures they've been re-releasing, but I've never seen one of him on the pegs.

There will be some more orcs coming out from what I understand..I've seen pics of them somewhere. Here's hoping that they don't get scrapped like one or two orc figures were in the past.

Nope..Quickbeam did not make an appearance, unless he was one of the "background Ents" doing battle. Treebeard was the only one that was named in the movies.

I liked Quickbeam too. They also didn't really get into all the stuff about the Entwives. That did show up in the extended edition of TTT, though. But no Quickbeam.

Ursula K Le Guin? yep..I have a lot of her stuff. Her Earthsea novels are amongst my favorite books.

according to a bio I once read on amazon, she has written over 3 dozen books. so yeah..she has a whole lot of stuff out. and there's a new book coming out this fall, I do believe. It's not an Earthsea one though.

have you ever read orson scott card? he's one of my other favorite authors. and another one who writes good fantasy and sci fi.

that sucks. I've never played NWN, but I've heard that it's a good game.

one of the cool things with Drizzt is that in the first BG game, you can kill him if you want to (though it's really, really, really hard to do and drops your reputation a lot if you succeed), and get his scimitars.

yeah..I've read the Drizzt dark elf trilogy, and a couple of his other books. I've been meaning to read more of his stuff, as it's in the forgotten realms universe, and I play a lot of baldur's gate and icewind dale. Drizzt makes an appearance in baldur's gate 1 and 2.
