How is life?
Picked up my wife's car this morning before coming into work, and now my wallet hurts!
Tell me about it Meg! Yesterday our 2 year old van wouldn't start for my wife. I jumped started it for her but then she calls me at lunch because it won't start again. Damn, so I went to where she worked and jump started it again and switched cars with her. I let it run a bit to charge, turn it off and it still won't start! Fortunately I work next to the dealer I bought it from. They say the battery is shot, $150 to replace it. $70 for the battery & $80 to install it! WTF? My van is only 2 years old! And of course it's buried deep inside my engine compartment underneath all kinds of wires, hoses and shit so I can't even begin to do it myself. Finally they agreed to let me get my own battery and they'll install it. I got a blem for $32.
I just spent $1000 on my Sunfire patching various leaks and stuff and my van still has a $600 dent in the back staring at me!
Fucking cars! I need to start riding my bike to work!

We had to replace the battery in my mom's car last weekend. It was 4 years old though.
Yeah - the problem with my wife's car was the transmission. A few dollars shy of $1500 for it. Happened 3 or 4 years ago, so I don't often have to put money into the vehicles we own, but when we do - damn. Bad timing on this one though, had it doen it 2 months ago, or 2 months after we got back, no problem - but it happening right now just wasn't good.

WTF?? First off, I just woke back up. I was awake at 6:00 am PST, took my new heart meds and now it's 10:00 PST. I got Snape complaining about a lack of sleep and I have had too much, which makes me feel as bad as I do when I don't have enough..
