Been listening to the `Squeeze It Dry` album that Marc gave me and it'z frigging great stuff! I had a 3 song demo here(Still have somewhere) with `Lickety Split`, `The Walk` and some other song on. Never saw theze guyz.
-
Which CD iz that? I thought Squeeze It Dry was their first one lol
-
just sent ya a pic Vamp!!!....CHERRY STREET- "Squeeze it Dry" was their first cd release....but, they had 2 demo tapes out before that..the one Vamp mentioned with "The Walk", "Likety Split" and "Hellraiser"...then they did another 3 song with singer Billy Coane from the band Rings of Saturn which is very good..songs are "Comes around goes around", "Soft & Slow", "Push & Shove" ..The guitarist Tom Mathers owns Perris records and he has put out a live Cherry Street cd along with another one called Hollywood Sessions which has al1 the demos they recorded(10 total songs) ....these were not advertised on the Perris website and kinda sold under the table to avoid legal action from the former singer(Roxy)..he was also selling a raw/demo version of Squeeze It Dry at one time....not sure if he still has any of those left...i think he told me they only made a limited supply of 'em.

-
ok once again - CHERRY ST - S/T is the first release. The Copyright on this cd says 1992! What does Squeez say? I just wanna make sure that I am not wrong!
Track Listing:
1. Ring around the rosie
2. Mary goes round
3. Speak no evil
4. Shake down sally
5. Here I come
6. Jenn
7. Sure was fine
8. Chery st.
9. All
Musicians:
Guitar - Taz Bang
Vocals - Roy Dahl
Guitar - Tom Monroe
Bass - Redd Rosell
Drums - Kelly James
Some of these songs were repeted on later releases. This cd is really rare - It went for over $250.00 on Ebay.
-
That soundz like the Squeeze It Dry album i got from Marc.
-
Oh wait, actually Squeeze It Dry haz 12 songz, but all(If i remember, except that song called All you listed maybe) are on the mentioned album.
-
Yaeh - The Squezz was a rerelease of the first with a few diffrent songs. Would you like a copy of this?
-
you're not wrong GD...Squeeze It dry was released in 1993...but i've never heard of this release...this might be the demo/raw version i was talking about...cuz, the tracklist is the same and those are all songs from the Squeeze it dry cd.

This band also did a vid for `The Walk` i heard a long long time ago... did anyone manage to see this?
-
Yeah but this version isnt "raw" HOWEVER here is the funny part. You will notice that the singer and the guitar player "Tom" are the same members but the the names changed (well last names anyway). I think that that is just plain silly. But its a good cd anyway!
-
I have the very first (and rarest) cherry st. cd! It has thier pics on it!
-
Huh???? If anybody paid $250 for that they got screwed. First of all, the singer's name was Roxy Dahl. and the last song was called "Ah!". Possibly those were typos in the post though. The version I got from Perris had 9 tx and had no title. I later found 4 tx with Roxy on vox that weren't on this. The tx are:
Spinner
Now and Darkness
Nasty reputation
Say You Love Me
IMO, these songs are better than almost everything on the 9 tx release I got, besides the song "Mary Goes Round", which is excellent. As for the band itself...they were best when Billy Coane was their lead singer. I loved all 3 of those tunes, and really like Rings of Saturn too.
Was "Squeeze It Dry" official?
-
MASSIVE thankz to Cateyez for emailing me a fuckload of Cherry St demoz including the songz you just mentioned Dan! Spinner iz an awesome tune
-
Agreed!.....and yeah, Randy kickz ass!
-
Yeah! I hardly know the guy but that was very fucking cool of him
-
Thanx for the cool words guys....glad to help out. BTW, Dan.."Squeeze It Dry" was a official release thru a label called JRS records in 1993...i had a official copy on tape, but now only have a cdr of it....songs titles are:
No Doubt About
Jenn
Cherry Street
Sure Was Fine
Mary Goes Round
Ah!
Whisky
Ring Around The Rosie
Here I Come
Shake Down Sally
Speak No Evil
Ahhh!

Just some info on Roxy Dahl....
He was the vocalist in Tracii's LA GUNS version.
The music was nothing like LA GUNS...It was soem real heavy stuff showcasing a heavier guitar sound from Tracii. Even though it was not LA GUNS, AMERICAN HARDCORE was still a great album...Roxy went with his real first name CHRIS....Chris Van Dahl.
American Hardcore showed Roxy's new vocal singing..which was deeper and at times sounding like Pantera. Heavy yet Great Stuff!
I got the chance to witness this version of LA GUNS live in Austin Texas and believe me it was no disappointment.

Also, another Roxy tidbit...Tom Monroe at Perris told me he was in the horror movie CandyMan 2(farewell to the flesh) ...was told you could'nt really see his face, i think he was wearing some kind of hood or something, can't remember and i've never seen the movie myself.
