Well.... Now I am getting excited.
After a 28 hour roundtrip to the ENDYN hideout... I now have a fully built ENDYN motor and JRSC.
The hardest part was driving back. The motor was inside a crate, so I had no idea how she looked, until about 6am Friday morning.
After a long weekend of installing... she's almost ready for the street.
Larry is incredible... The motor looked better than the day I drove the car home from the dealer... The Kamikazee header looks beautiful... the Moroso pan kicks A$$, Clutchmasters aluminum flywheel is to good looking to hide... Oh well.
A couple of days and she will hit the road!

Larry had nothing to do with the valve cover, thats the way I gave it to him.
It was someones weak attempt at polishing.
I am VERY happy to have my motor... Ill be even more happy she's ready to drive...
Should be no later than this weekend.

Well, I did forget something when I did mine. I'd had the engine out several times before with no probs, but this time I was so excited, I was bound to mess up. I forgot to tighten the a/c tensioner pulley. The first drive it spun off and trashed my ps and a/c belts. The sc/alt belt was fine. I drove to the local dealer, got belts, and presto... all done. (I had another pulley from the "back-up" engine.) Talk about your stupid mistakes.
So, you're in the southeast somewhere? I'm in Daphne, AL. (Just east of Mobile)I don't get to the track(s) much at all. In fact the first time I ever went was Tuesday last week. In Irvington, Al. It's only about 20 minutes from me. It's only 1/8 mile, but it's only $10 to get on the track, and it works out pretty well for practice. Hell, after the first 1/8 mile, the rest of the 1/4 mile is easy anyway. I was the only import there. But then there were only about 10 guys there running. So, I was able to run repeatedly. BTW, I suck at it.

PSIdreams: The good news is, it has spent about 10 hours on an engine dyno... so my break in is limited. In fact, my only instructions from TOO are "Keep it under 7k for the first 100 miles". I think I can live with that.
Hooper: When we fired the motor up on sunday the timing belt flew off... I had to clean my shorts out! I was so scared. Turns out everything was fine... The wrong water pump was accidently put on (was 19t instead of 22t), and it happened after the car was engine dyno'd. Since this pump was smaller, the belt was loose. But Larry was absolutely wonderful in helping diagnosing what was wrong and overnighted me another pump.
Im in Atlanta... We need to hook up sometime. Larry mentioned something about possibly having an ENDYN get together next year, in TX... I'm there!
I gotta tell you... no BS. This guy is great. He really has taken are of me. I will never talk to anybody else.

Steele is my stomping ground... I would LOVE to see you come up and run that beast !!! I have heard so many good things about the ENDYN mods, yet have never seen any concrete proof that they are worth the $$$ spent. Let me know when you would like to come up... I will meet you there.

Actually, the Blackbirds are TWINS !!! I built two: mine (which still resides in a crate by the way) and Will Smith's (1fstGSR). Will has been tuning over at Reliable in ATL a month or so ago... the injector drivers failed in his PMS and no quality dyno figures were attained.
Anyhow, my bird should be "in car" in just a few weeks... I will break her in using the OE ECU... then tune it and the Aurora in ATL in late January.
I am very excited to meet you. The figures and results sound quite promising on your modded motor.

nah actually got a set of OBD-0 (yep zero) injectors (resistance 2.7 ohms). Stock OBD-I's should be ~12.7 Ohms. So the injector drivers couldn't handle the extra current that the lower resistance injectors were trying to pull through. Fried'em good they did. Got the fixed unit back and no problems now.

JRCivic: What part of Alabama are you from?
I have been planning on driving to Steele for my practice runs next year... I hear it's better than going up to Commerce, and there are alot more imports. I'm also planning on attending scattered NIRA and IDRC events next year. (So far the only "event" Ive been to is the NIRA race in West Palm Beach, back in April 99). Then I was only one of 2 cars with a JRSC, racing. Boy times have changed.
1fstGSR: Ed has worked on my car many times in the past. When the car is together I will probably have it dyno'd there, unless you know of another shop around here that has a dyno... Somebody has one in Birmingham, Right?

I am in Birmingham... I know that you are acquainted with a few people over here... come on up to Steele when you are ready. The facility is first rate and there are plenty of Supercharged cars to support you here... although you will be able to whip most of them. heheh.
I will be on the dyno at Ed's in late January... tuning in my Blackbird and the Aurora. Maybe we can hook up there as well.
