It was nice to get AL, reason, Mr. & Mrs. Sluggo, Mr & Mrs. Fan, trav, gae, Erin, D2, and yours truly all in one place for some great food and fun times.
If you missed it, you missed a lot of fun.
I would like to thank everyone for comming and wanted to let you know that I had a great time. Being from a large Italin extended family, Saturday night reminded me of being in New York.
Well almost, things were alwasy louder at home.

The truth is that my mom had no brothers or sisters, (two older step brothers, but that's another story) and no aunts or uncles in the US so the only family I knew were I-ties.

If you'll recall, after you asked for a spelling of my last name, you asked if I was related to Mary of Mount Healthy. I believe Mary is Al's wife - as in Al and Mary. And Al I believe is my dad's cousin. I've never actually spoken to Al, but he shows up at family reunions.
I may be wrong about this, but that's my story for now.

Reason - I remember now. Yes, Mary is married to Al. A very, very nice couple. When I worked in Mt. Healthy I met Mary and Al, through a mutual friend, at a prayer group. And I made a good friend who is a nun (Sister Edie) who is also a good friend of Mary & Al. You should get to know them. You would probably like them.

I think this is a function of Dad being one of 9. With all those nieces and nephews, those on the "outside" are easy to miss.

Through your life, you are constantly "remodeling" your bones. <s>Osteoblasts</s> Special cells take away bone, and <s>osteoclasts</s> other special cells lay down more bone. When you are young, these are balanced. If you put load on bones, like if you get a lot of exercise, you get a little more on the rebuilding and your bones get a little stronger. This is why they recommend weight training for people with <s>oteoporosis</s> the weakening bone disease.
When you get older <s>or postmenopausal</s>, there is an imbalance, with more bone being taken up than is being built. The nice drug helps get the bone remodeling into balance. Not having a bone break when you are old is very big for overall quality of life.

I'm down with that pic. I just hope she doesn't post that one from a few years ago at the El Rancho Rankin where they had this dude who was dressed up like an Indian who had a tennis ball shoved in mouth, and Gae brought this weird hot oil treatment stuff and I'm like...well, those days are over, it's off to marital bliss for me...
