These "optical illusions" are astounding demonstrations of the fact that our perception of color is strongly affected by the surrounding colors.

I'm in the middle of a bout of jury duty, and in the county I am in, it really sucks. It screwed my vacation plans and I'm going to take my sons to visit their grandparents in August. I love my parents but my mom drives me crazy. She is schizophrenogenic.

I'll have to verify the name of the book, but I think it was titled "The Personal Therapist."

Such an easy read full of common sense stuff. The beauty of it is that it helped me immediately.

I just checked on Amazon.com and couldn't find it. If you are interested, I will try to find it (or buy a copy) and send it to you.

The name of the book is "The Portable Therapist," by Susanna McMahon, PhD. I found it particularly helpful dealing with grief.

I'd give you my copy, but the person who borrowed it (about 5 years ago) gave it to someone else...in another state. As odd as this sounds, this same person bought copies for his three sisters as gifts.

The voice mail I got last night (in my response to my inquiry about my book) from the borrower said something to the effect that it "save his life about 6 times in the last 5 years." Probably an exaggeration.

I can say from experience a few tidbits of advice in that book helped me deal with being gut-wrenchingly miserable. I found it particularly good with helping me deal with all the crap life throws my way.

Though I dont listen to them that much anymore, I was a big Rush fan when I was younger.

I think the boob job idea would be good for her, too. Maybe the two of you can get a volume discount by going in together.

Did anyone see the Simpsons episode where Marge gets a boob job? Was on just last week as a rerun.

Sorry if that was too cryptic.

And trav, I think maybe the co-worker did understand why. Yesterday I was talking to him about going to the hardware store at lunchtime with another co-worker, and he asked if I needed clamps and rope, and I turned bright red again. He provoked a reaction, perhaps deliberately.

I will save up for the boob job, they are not covered by my insurance and I have paid over $16,000 to my attorney over the last year and a half. Dang. I should have become a lawyer.

I will take the tattoo thing under consideration, but I am a regular blood donor and I would have to take off a year, I think, after getting a tattoo. I like the thought of helping to save lives.
