House of 1000 Corpses, written/produced (or something like that) by Rob Zombie...

curious as to if you had seen it and if you liked it. Personally, i thought it sucked, and i feel like i wasted an hour and a half/2 hours of my life....

you actually had to watch it to know that???

i thought it might be scary, have a few scenes worth watching....but apparently, i was very very wrong

I loved that movie. I saw it at the theatres and thoroughly enjoyed it. A lot of people I've talked to about it thought it was crap but I honestly haven't seen a horror movie that good in yeeeeeaaaaars.

i would love to hear a breakdown of the movie from a true horror movies fans perspective (did that even make sense?)

i've never been a big movie buff, much less horror flics like that....i enjoy a good scare, and frankly, i wasn't scared at all in the movie.

that was in the film, no doubt about that....

i can see why you liked it, considering that is what you base a good horror movie on. i think they could have done a much better job at it, and i think some of the murders could have been better....one i can think of right off the top of my head was when the cops came to the house, and the kid rock looking guy was shooting them, one of them got shot execution style, however...the camera had zoomed out to about 50 feet up before he got shot...and all you heard was the bang of the gun shot, and you saw a little bit of smoke come out of the gun, and then the guy fell....there was a lot of room for improvement, and Doctor Satan could have been alot more gruesome....

No, no, not at all do I enjoy a horror film because I want to be scared. I just love the gore... I love seeing the special effects used in the killings.. basically the sicker something is the better.

I actually haven't seen the film since that time at the theatres (I'm waiting for the DVD to hit the bargain bins) so I can't really deconstruct it for you... but I will say, that when I see a horror film, script and story are of little importance to the overall scheme of it all. I mean, yeah, bonus if it's there, but I go to see things dying.

What about the mermaid? That was awesome.

the only mermaid part i can think of was when the kid rock looking guy chopped up the driver and put him back together with the tail of a fish or something like that, and then showed his girlfriend

From memory, when we saw it at the theatres and that bit come up, they were a few "urh, how dare they" type grunts from the people near us. Fucking poofs.

Hahaha shit that's funny bredan.. I especially liked the bit at the start where he goes on about the audio/video.. "Also the sound level varied from scene to scene, I had to adjust the volume accordingly". L.OL!

And that movie looks cool GT, I'll be sure to go see it at the movies.

I hadn't looked foward to a movie as much as i did when i first heard that rob zombie was making a movie, being a Rob Zombie fan from way back and yeah i hadn't enjoyed a movie that much at the theatres in ages, i dunno, i did think there were a few scary bits, towards the start of the movie when they were driving away from the house and those dudes were on those posts which you though were statues (its been a long time) and attacked them. i dunno if i though it was scary, or just alot of suspence, knowing that something was gonna happen. but yeah, i though it was awesome. the main chick in it (the obnoxious blonde with that laugh) is Rob Zombie's wife. and i know there's a sequal being made, maybe 'The Devils Rejects' is that.

the fact its got the Ramones on the soundtrack just made me like it even more.

Woo, I got it today for $16.

House of 1000 Corpses DVD, that is.

I watched it last night, awesome. That grandpa dude is so funny! And the still gallery in the special features is wicked.
