Best cam for GSR

What is the best cam for a GSR all motor?? anyone

94 integ ls, auto, JRSC, boost 8psi(CRV pully). apxi cat back no cat, RSR gsr header4-2-1,AEM cam gear, apex S-afc, apex rev-speedmeter, MAX speed intake.

toda spec b cams give very healthy gains across the entire rpm range . j-spec civic typer cams pull good numbers too . there is a site dedicated to honda dyno graphs . if i can find it ill post the link here . i think i found it through temple of vtec's site .

Come to think of it, your Vtec motor won't sound like that since Crower probably doesn't make the standard lobes nearly as aggressive.

My first question would be what do you want to do with them...drag, autocross, etc...and how much $$$ are you willing to spend??...and what kind of end HP result are you looking for...there are some good choices out there it just depends on what you want to do with your motor and what your final goals are??

ok, i like street race. I like to go out there and have a four cyl. car ALL motor and spank some V8 car, trying to run 14 or high 13 1/4 mile

gotboost....what car is the GSR motor in??...I hope you are going to tell me its in a light civic hatch...if you dont you will need much more than cams to hit low 14's/high 13's all motor

you will need to upgrade springs to safely run any of the more agressive cams (crowers included). some people have told me they wont be needed if stock redline remains the same , but one over rev could create disaster .

Crower Cams ROCK!!! That is what we are using in the race car of the 63403 type http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif They have mucho mucho juevos. They just don't stop pulling all the way to 9500 rpms!!! 11.55 @117 mph ALL MOTOR... YEAH BABY http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif

the GSR motor is going in my civic HB si, so i do have to get new valve spring? for the CTR cam or just other cams?

Crower makes a good cam #403 that'll blow a R out of the water. If your willing to buy new springs, port your head and race it to 8800rpm.

Crane makes a one of a kind Roller cam that will be expensive but take you up 10,000rpm

With cams though you always loose down low what you gain up high. So pick wisely. I talk about how in "Cam Query"

As for having TODA B's in a gsr, valve springs is a must have for these cams. My friend and I figured this out after snapping 2 timing belts and a couple of bent valves. He was using JUN valve springs.

Use either TODA valve springs or Portflows.
