last week i was invited to a rather conservative
halloween 'party' happening on the 28th.
i'm trying to give the impression that this
party isn't really one of those kegger
college parties as seen on tv... nor is it
a tight-assed business style party.
it's somewhere in between.
the party is for some upper-level college
students as well as the potential for an
unknown group of others.
apparently you HAVE to be in costume in order
to go... and i'm having a hard time trying
to figure out wtf i'd wear.
not knowing everyone that is going... and
being under a social pressure to at least
appear "adult" in composure, i don't want
to wear a costume that is ridiculously
stupid or restrictive (meaning -- lots of
extraneous parts, etc).
the idea of a bland costume turns me off...
but i cannot think of a costume idea that
is not only brilliant, but also keeps me
saving face.
ideas welcomed...
either post it or let me know in another form

The best costumes I've ever worn were the ones others can't tell who you really were. Keep the costume on, don't give it away by saying anything (use body-language to 'talk').
"Anonymous" guests who don't reveal themselves from under the costume can get away with murder. (and I don't mean that in a creepy CSI-way either.)
BTW - don't think I've ever seen a pic of Shatoushka, so wouldn't know which costume might 'fit'. Had a knack with seeing someone & 'finding' the right costume for them before (Laverne, from the Laverne&Shirly TV show, a bellboy for a restaurant owner, The Penguin for a tightassed business-owner 1/10th blood Indian who fought for his right to open tiny casino of his own...).
C'mon, go as Mr. Hanky!!!

Well, having had the pleasure more than once of seeing Miss Shatzy in person...my pick is Cleopatra. It's perfect in more ways than one

rev, in all our years... i'm surprised you haven't
seen a pic of me at all. thats interesting.
chele, cleopatra is a good suggestion. shame i
no longer have black hair (ok, its not a shame...
but it would cut down on the wig).
fortunately, i already have a nice wig that
would work. will definitely add it to my list!!

meh your hair is dark enough and the length is close too!

What's wrong with a nice green frog costume??
-
teehee... of course!
i ended up floating dickson street as opposed to
worrying with the party. that way i didn't have
to stress over the whole costume thing and got
to hang out and see other people all dressed up.
i hope everyone had a decent holiday. yah
