If you were in a helicopter flying over New Orleans today and didn't know what caused the disaster below, might you assume that it was terrorist related? Might you assume that terrorists blew up a portion of the Levee surrounding New Orleans and that caused the flooding? Might you assume that as the water level rose and buildings collapsed that the resulting debris crashed into other buildings and caused much of the destruction?
What if terrorists had caused the levee to burst, what exactly would Homeland Security have done to help New Orleans recover? Are we to believe that simply because nature caused the EXACT same type of destruction that a few well placed bombs by terrorists could have caused that somehow Homeland Security was not to be involved?
Did the moles that run Homeland Security stick their snouts into the air, sniff that the destruction in New Orleans was caused by nature rather than terrorists, and contently went back to sleep for six more weeks?
Has the conservative element helped create redundant federal services that actually differentiate between natural disasters and man made disasters? Huh? "FEMA, you handle natural disasters, Homeland Security, you handle "terrorist" made disasters."
Wasn't Homeland Security supposed to bring the CIA and FBI together? I guess FEMA doesn't count into that mix. But I thought Conservatives were about less Government programs, not more. Have the American Taxpayers been double dipped by the same party that demands less government spending? At the very least, should not Homeland Security have conversed with FEMA and come up with an immediate plan to save New Orleans as quickly as possible?
What was "Condo Living" Rice doing during the first few days after New Orleans was "bombed"? Was "Condo Living" Rice back in Washington planning a way to save the people of New Orleans, or did she too put her snout in the air, sniff that the identical kind of damage that could have been made by terrorist bombs was actually caused by nature instead, and decided that she too could go on with her social activities as if it had nothing to do with her? Do these people in power really draw a line between terrorist made tragedies and weather-made tragedies even when the resulting damage is the same? Is that sane?
President Bush's modus operandi has become all to clear, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER say anything bad about an American corporation, and then collect their political donations as payback. But when the time came for those corporations to use their infrastructure to save a city, those corporations sat idly by and did very little, and President Bush, with no one around to pull his puppet strings, just waited while Americans died.
