"In order for a contract to be rejected, there would have to be a signed contract submitted," Bettman said Wednesday after addressing the World Hockey Summit. "There has not been a signed contract submitted."
But Bettman did not dispute that there has likely been ongoing dialogue between the Devils and the league over what might be allowed under the salary cap.
"I don't know if there has been such cap advice, what the specifics of it might be, and I wouldn't comment on it anyway because that's a dialogue we regularly have with our clubs," Bettman said.

The City and County of San Francisco’s Office of Cannabis Regulation (OCR) today announced that the proposed regulations governing medical marijuana dispensaries (MMD), previously scheduled for consideration at the San Francisco Planning Commission’s Oct. 12 meeting, have been withdrawn.
On August 29, OCR issued a Notice of Intent to withdraw the MMD regulations after the Medical Board concluded it would not approve the draft rules due to concerns about the implementation timeline. These draft medical dispensary regulations include specific requirements including height limits and a requirement that dispensaries be located within 1,000 feet of schools, parks, playgrounds, public libraries and community centers.
